The Met Gala is formally called the Costume Institute Benefit, as it is also a fundraising gala held for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan. Top stars from around the globe attend this event, known for its prestige, fashion, and glamour that never runs out. This year’s theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” with the dress code “The Garden of Time.” Here are some of the top stars who attended, as well as their head-turning looks!

The globally acclaimed Queen of Rap has again proven that she is the best to do it. While in the middle of a Sold Out World Tour, Minaj took a few days to grace the Met Gala Carpet. She stunned in a golden yellow hand-painted Marni minidress with 3-D multi-colored flowers made out of recycled tin cans. Her hair was styled perfectly with smaller flowers, and she topped off her look with a matching purse, shoes, and, of course, Pink Friday Nails! 

Many believe the “Spiderman” star and her stylist, Law Roach, are a match made in fashion heaven, and they are not wrong! As one of the most anticipated celebrities of the night, Zendaya looked ethereal in a custom Maison Margiela Couture dress. When the crowd thought they couldn’t get enough, she stole the show by walking the carpet a second time in a stunning black dress with a flower bouquet headpiece.

At just 27 years of age, Harris Reed has proven several times that he is a one-of-a-kind fashion designer. Rather than wearing the usual black-and-white tuxedo that men choose for the Met Gala, Reed turned heads when he arrived in a dramatic silk-patterned pantsuit with a three-dimensional corset, a draped train, and a halo lined with black arrows. Talk about a show-stopping look! 

Russell has been called fashion’s “It Girl,” and she lived up to that name at the 2024 Met Gala. The Canadian actress made her Met Gala debut as Jonathan Anderson’s muse in custom Loewe. Her look was a 3-D molded wooden bodice elegantly draped with a white skirt. To say she looked flawless is an understatement, as she had everyone staring all night. 

Not only did Reed slay on the red carpet, but he also styled the beautiful actress Demi Moore. After five long years away from the Met Gala, Moore returned in custom Harris Reed, in a stunning black dress with flowers and arrows similar to what Reed wore. She was also the first person to step out in Cartier’s unreleased Nature Sauvage collection. 

Emma Chamberlain has never been one to disappoint on the red carpet, and she wasn’t going to start at the Met Gala! The YouTuber rocked a custom Jean Paul Gaultier dress with a mocha-colored lace corset, which looked like she was part of an ethereal garden. Her makeup was the cherry on the top, matching the color of her beautiful dress and hair.

Lana Del Rey looked like she was “Born to Slay” at the 2024 Met Gala. The iconic singer showed up in a custom Alexander McQueen dress that fit the theme and made her the center of attention. She had a single rose on a finger and tree branches poking out of her stunning tulle canopy. The media could not get enough of her look that night. 

Tyla’s look at the Met Gala is exactly how one should do a Met debut! Not only was she on theme, but she looked phenomenal doing it. The South African singer dressed in a body-molded sand dress that showed off her stunning figure. She also had an hourglass purse that perfectly suited her “Sands of Time” inspiration. The Indian movie star is someone who doesn’t have to do too much to make a statement on a red carpet. With a face that looks sculpted by the gods, Bhatt easily steals the show. However, she still showed up in a custom Sabyasachi sari studded with real gems. It also had a 23-foot-long train that looked breathtaking as she walked the red carpet. 

Rounding up this list is one of the most shocking and jaw-dropping looks of the night. Mona Patel, the Indian CEO and multimillionaire, became an overnight internet sensation with her Met Gala debut. She wore a custom Iris van Herpen gown that included a corset bodice designed to resemble butterfly wings. What’s more, she had smaller butterflies that ran down her arms, which were also flapping their wings all through the night!
