President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address last week was a success, both rhetorically and financially. Within 24 hours of the speech, his reelection campaign raised $10 million, marking a record for the president, as reported by NBC News. The campaign received 116,000 donations from 113,000 supporters during this period.

“Ten million dollars in 24 hours. To quote the boss, that’s a BFD,” campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez told NBC in a statement.

“The President’s State of the Union address reminded so many of our supporters who is fighting for them, and the stakes of this election for our freedoms, our rights, and our democracy.”

Business Insider’s request for comment from Biden’s campaign went unanswered. NBC’s report highlighted a successful fundraising period for Biden, with his campaign ending January with $56 million compared to Donald Trump’s $30 million.

Additionally, the DNC reported $24 million, while the RNC reported $9 million. During his State of the Union address, Biden criticized former President Trump, the presumed GOP presidential candidate, and his Republican backers. He highlighted his administration’s achievements in healthcare and reducing prescription prices.

Biden also condemned the conservative-leaning Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, pledging that women across the country would respond at the polls.

Karoline Leavitt, a Trump campaign spokesperson, expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to reclaim the White House in November.

She cited support from small-dollar donors from diverse backgrounds dissatisfied with Biden’s handling of inflation, border security, crime, and chaos.

Leavitt’s statement was provided to Business Insider in response to Biden’s State of the Union address. After the State of the Union address, Biden’s campaign initiated a $30 million advertising campaign on Saturday.

The ad emphasized one of Biden’s principal vulnerabilities: his age. In the ad, Biden, 81, acknowledges his age, stating, “Look, I’m not a young guy. That’s no secret.”

However, he asserts his ability to effectively address issues for the American people, saying, “But here’s the deal, I understand how to get things done for the American people.”

One user remarked, “How much was that line of credit that the RNC just got? Because that’s the amount of money that Trump just grifted off of former conservatives, now known as simple fascists.”

Another user added, “Anyone even contemplating voting for him needs an education. He didn’t address any crisis at the border or other events, and Harris behind him clapping over and over about nothing… she needs to be replaced. Neither represent what this country wants.”
