Since they tied the knot, James Patrick Huggins and Penelope Ann Miller had divorced several times, according to rumors. The last report that claimed the couple had once more gone their separate ways surfaced in 2017.

James Patrick Huggins and Penelope Ann Miller’s Marriage

Miller and Huggins got married in 2000, and he was her second attempt at marriage. The first man she married was comedian Will Arnett. Their union was not destined for longevity as it lasted from 1994 until 1995, and they had no kids.

Things were different between Miller and Huggins as they welcomed their first child shortly after their marriage. It was a daughter, and they named her Eloisa May. Eight years later, on March 23, 2009, Miller and Huggins expanded their family once more as they welcomed another daughter, Maria Adela.

In 2012, Miller and Huggins experienced trouble in paradise. It led the actress to file for divorce from her husband of 12 years, citing irreconcilable differences. 

At the time, it was reported that the date of their split was “to be determined.” Fortunately, the couple changed their minds because a few months later, Miller filed papers to the Los Angeles court to dismiss her request for separation from Huggins.

It was a tumultuous time for their fans, and unfortunately, the divorce scare was not just limited to 2012 alone. In 2017, rumors claimed Miller had again filed court documents to divorce Huggins.

According to a report, the divorce even turned “nasty” as Miller obtained a temporary restraining order against Huggins. She claimed that it was because Huggins’s alcohol abuse caused harm to their children. The report also claimed she was granted their daughters’ physical and legal physical custody. 

It caused a stir among their fans on social media. However, it turned out the source was far from accurate. According to Miller’s Instagram account, she is still with Huggins, and their relationship is as strong as ever. 

How Long Have Penelope Ann Miller and James Patrick Huggins Been Together?

As of August 2023, Miller and Huggins were still married and happy to be together. The talented actress is known to celebrate their marital milestones on her social media pages.

When they celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary, she took to social media to share a tribute to her husband alongside a black and white photo from their wedding day.

In her heartwarming tribute, Miller tagged Huggins as her partner “in marriage, parenting, friendship, growing up and love, love, love.” The display of affection had many of their fans, who knew of the divorce rumors, in their feelings. 

The comment section was filled with well-wishers who hoped their union would continue to stand the test of time. It has been years since that anniversary, but the pair are still very much in love and together. 

In 2021, Miller melted hearts again when she shared photos from their 2021 Christmas celebrations. The pictures captured their family and gave their fans a glimpse of their Christmas decorations and presents.

It proved that their union still thrives, contrary to the rumors’ claims.

James Patrick Huggins is an established American actor well-known for his significant contributions to film and television. He was born on March 1, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, USA. His lineage is one of entertainers, as his father, Roy Huggins, was a television producer, and his mother, Adele Mara, was an actress.  

He received his higher education at the University of Southern California, where he majored in film. Then, he honed his acting skills at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.

After graduating, he started his career by diving into the acting world. As an actor, one of his most memorable performances was witnessed in the 2004 film “Carry Me Home,” a role that garnered him considerable acclaim. 

When he is not acting, Huggins is kept busy as the co-founder of Huggins & Huggins, a company that produces and distributes films and television content.
