Is Drake Bisexual, or It’s All Speculation?

Over the years, several hip-hop artists have come out openly to identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. While most have come out to say they were gay, others have been outed for being bisexual.

So back to the question, “Is Drake bisexual?” The answer is inconclusive. Inconclusive because he once sang about it in one of his songs, but it’s possible it’s just ordinary lyrics.

Is Drake Bisexual, or Is It Just a Speculation?

Generally, the hip-hop landscape has been considered a very masculine field, which has somehow compelled every hip-hop artist to adjust their life and music styles to fit the game. But the tide has changed over the years. There are now several hip-hop artists who are not conventional in their sexuality.

Following the admissions of Frank Ocean, Lil Nas X, Young M.A, and Yung Miami, Drake is the latest to join the list of hip-hop artists rumored to be gay, lesbian, or bisexual. The veteran rapper rocked the world in 2021 when he sang about being gay in one of the songs on his album “Certified Lover Boy.”

The line came in a song titled “Girls Want Girls,” where he collaborated with Lil Baby, and Drake could be heard rapping: “Starin’ at your dress ’cause it’s see-through / Yeah, talkin’ all the s–t that you done been through / Yeah, say that you a lesbian, girl, me too.”

Why It Could Just Be a Speculation

There is no doubt that this is just lyrics to a song, but that did not stop the speculations that the rapper was bisexual. Also, Drake’s acceptance of LGBTQ+ people fueled the rumor. However, it is insufficient to ascertain whether he is bisexual or gay.

It is generally known that rappers want to make rhymes and play with words, which could be what Drake did in this song. Besides, the rapper has not come out openly to clarify that he was, in fact, gay or bisexual.

Other rappers like Nicki Minaj have also raised concerns about how the public hunts them for whatever they say or don’t say in a song. In an interview with Complex, Nicki said she is okay with people not listening to her music if they don’t like her style. But she is uncomfortable with people spreading rumors that she is bisexual because of something she said in a song.
