Multitalented comedian, producer, and actor Jamie Foxx might be returning to the big stage soon! The 56-year-old teased his return on Instagram on February 28th. He shared a throwback video of himself performing one of his stand-up specials impersonating the late musician Prince.

In his caption, he announced that he has plans to take center stage once again. “PRINCE singing the Brady Bunch theme song was a moment… I’m planning on bringing more moments,” he wrote. “Going to get on somebody’s stage somewhere near you. I got some jokes and a story to tell…”

This announcement is particularly exciting for his fans as he suffered a major health scare early last year. According to multiple sources, he was in the middle of filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action” when his health took a decline. Therefore, he had to pause filming for a while.

When news of his health scare broke, various outlets had their own theories on what was wrong with him. However, Foxx and his family kept the nature of his illness private. When people started to share rumors that he was in his last days, his daughter Corinne debunked it.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she wrote on social media. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Later in July, Foxx himself addressed his fans and broke his silence. “I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back. I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through,” he told fans.

The “Spider-Man” actor also said that he didn’t want his dandy to see him at his lowest. “I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show,” he said.

“I just didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.” He also addressed and denied the worrisome rumors that he was blind or paralyzed. However, he conceded that he “did go to hell and back.”

“My road to recovery had some potholes as well, but I’m coming back, and I’m able to work,” he said. Therefore, this announcement of his possible return to stand-up comedy thrilled fans. On top of his film success, Foxx is a great comedian with exceptional delivery.

However, it has been years since he last graced the comedy stage. This is because the multitalented celebrity is also one of the most talented actors of our time. So, he has focused more on acting for many years.

Now, the Oscar-winning actor might return to comedy after several years. He has also continued filming his movie, which Netflix says they’ll release later this year.
