Senator Lindsey Graham took his defense of Donald Trump too far last month after twisting the facts on Fox News. However, netizens unimpressed with his fleeting loyalty quickly gave him a reality check.
Graham currently touts himself as a devoted ally of the former president. As such, it did not shock many when he appeared on Fox News to defend him. In his statement, he referred to Joe Biden as the felon, not Trump.
He buttressed his point by saying that Biden’s actions as president are criminal. These include his border policies, which Graham said have been exposing people to rapists and murderers.
Graham said this, neglecting that Trump is the only candidate between the two candidates to get a court conviction. A Manhattan jury found Trump guilty weeks ago on all counts in his hush money trial.

In addition, he was convicted of falsifying business records to hide an alleged sex scandal to protect his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump is also the subject of three other criminal cases, two of which are tied to his involvement in the January 6 Capitol attacks.
The third concerns his handling of classified documents and his efforts to obstruct the investigation that followed. Ignoring those facts; Graham also asserted that “what happened to Trump in New York was a bunch of B.S.” and “a political hit job.”
This was an echo of the former president’s statement following the May 30 verdict, which left many disgruntled. There have been social media comments on the interview, none of which were flattering.
The Republican Voters Against Trump group took to X, formerly Twitter, with a clip that captured Graham’s “felon” assertion. The comment accompanying the footage saw the handler tag the statement as ” pathetic.”
POLL — Should Donald J. Trump Be Allowed to Run for Office?
Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) commented that it was “sad.” Other users called Graham “spineless” and cowardly, reminding him of the good things he said about Biden before Trump’s presidency.
Before his interview with Fox News, Graham already had a reputation as a turncoat whose allegiance shifted depending on poll results and hidden influence. People have not forgotten the nasty things he used to say about Trump.
In the past, during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Graham could not even bring himself to support the man. He made many nasty comments about Trump and chose to vote for the third-party candidate Evan McMullin.
His attitude towards Trump changed after he won the election. Graham reportedly decided courting a relationship with him served his interests, which included staying relevant in Washington politics and re-election in South Carolina.

People have not let him forget, but Graham barely cares anymore. Right now, he is all for Trump, but it won’t be shocking to see that change if the man loses his bid for the presidency again.
