The simple reason is the stiffness of the chassis. However, with Trans Am Worldwide’s modern take on the classic Chevelle, that’s no problem. Most of the cars we see on the company’s website are soft-top convertibles, although the Tallahassee-based company makes clear that a hard-top variant will also be available.

The folks at Trans Am Worldwide love the convertible body style, as evidenced by another of their signature projects – the Pontiac Firebird Bandit, which pays homage to the 1977 T-shirt in “Smokey and the Bandit.”

Regardless of body style, the 2024 Chevelle 70/SS maintains a complete interior, including rear seats, but with a classic look, reminiscent of the 1970 Chevelle.
