Actor Cole Brings Plenty, best known for the “Yellowstone” spinoff series “1923,” was discovered dead in Kansas. The mortal remains of the 27-year-old actor, who was recently named as a suspect in a domestic violence case, were found by the police near an unoccupied car in the woods, as per reports. The actor was missing for four days.
The actor was wanted for arrest after the police received reports of a woman screaming inside an apartment in the Lawrence region. However, Brings Plenty was gone before they arrived at the scene.
“Lawrence Police have submitted an affidavit to the District Attorney for the arrest of Cole Brings Plenty after an incident Sunday morning at an apartment in Lawrence,” the Kansas Police Department stated. “We’ve identified him as the suspect, have probable cause for his arrest, and issued an alert to area agencies.”

How Cole’s Family Broke The News
Moses Brings Plenty, the actor’s uncle, broke the news on his Instagram handle by sharing a statement issued by the star’s father. “I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us,” the statement reads.
“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole.” The statement added, “During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward.” Notably, Brings Plenty’s uncle, Moses, also starred in “Yellowstone.”
Cole Brings Plenty Was To Be Arrested Before His Death
Days before he was found, police said they had “probable cause” for Cole Brings Plenty’s arrest. The arrest was in response to the allegations of domestic violence, according to a statement from the police.

“Officers responded to reports of a female screaming for help, but the suspect fled before officers arrived,” the statement read. He was last seen on traffic cameras “leaving the city immediately after the incident,” according to the statement.
The family contacted officers, expressed concern, and reported Brings Plenty as a missing person, the statement said. In addition to being named a suspect, the police “issued an alert to area agencies.” However, due to the sensitive nature of the allegations, the authorities kept details of the incident to a minimum.
Who Was Cole Brings Plenty?
Cole Brings Plenty was the nephew of Moses Brings Plenty, a TV, film, and stage actor. He hailed from the Oglala Lakota community, one of the largest Native American tribes in the USA. Brings Plenty was best known for playing Pete Plenty Clouds in two episodes of “1923.”
He was also featured in “Into the Wild Frontier” and “The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger.”
Tributes to Brings Plenty
Since the news broke, tributes to the actor have been pouring in, including from “Yellowstone” stars. Hassie Harrison, who portrays Laramie in the drama series, wrote on Instagram, “Oh, Mo. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Sending love and light to your whole family.”
Wendy Moniz, who plays Governor Lynelle Perry, wrote, “Mo, I’m so saddened to learn this. Sending you & your family love.” Those outside the acting world also expressed their shock and sadness.
Writing on social media, the artist Mark Maggiori said of Cole Brings Plenty, “I loved him. May his journey to the other world be a good one. We will visit him later on. Much love.”

Cole Brings Plenty Was Reported Missing Before He Was Found Dead
Moses Brings Plenty had previously shared a missing poster on his Instagram to raise awareness about his nephew. His family reported him missing after he “missed an appointment with his agent for a TV show, saying it is uncharacteristic of him.”
The actor also had his mobile phone switched off. He was last seen leaving Lawrence, Kansas. “Cole’s inspiring work on ‘1923’ and ‘Into The Wild Frontier’ was just the beginning of a long and successful career to follow.,” they wrote.
“His absence will be deeply felt across the film and Native communities as a whole. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”
