Vice President Kamala Harris has questioned the integrity of Special Counsel Robert Hur. This is coming after Hur’s released report on President Biden’s handling of classified documents.
On January 12, 2023, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate President Biden’s handling of classified documents after his stint as Vice President.
Roughly one year later, the Special Counsel, Robert Hur, made the findings of his investigation public. In his report, he detailed damaging revelations about the health of Biden’s memory. The report also exposed Biden’s inappropriate handling of classified information. But Vice President Kamala Harris has slammed the report, calling it “politically motivated.”
She also labeled the report “gratuitous, inaccurate, and inappropriate.” Hur’s report revealed that Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.” Biden had previously denied wrongdoing concerning the handling of the documents.

However, the section of the report concerning Biden’s cognitive capacity was more embarrassing for the president. The report described Biden as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
Hur based the report on one-on-one interviews he had with the president. Among the revelations in the report, Hur disclosed that Biden couldn’t recall the period he served as Vice President.
Biden also couldn’t closely state the year his son Beau had died. His recollection of an important debate about Afghanistan troop levels was far from solid.
Although Hur concluded that Biden’s handling of documents wasn’t serious enough to attract criminal charges, the Special Counsel painted a disturbing picture of Biden’s ability to lead the country independently.

Recently, Joe Biden’s mental capacity has been a subject of debate, even more so as the presidential elections draw closer. His cognitive capacity has been one of the top worries of voters.
This report will be a major setback in the President’s chances of retaining his seat in the Oval Office. Especially given the great possibility of a rematch with the formidable Donald Trump. Trump is likely to use the report’s verdict in his bid to demarket Biden.
But Biden’s Vice, Kamala Harris, has thrown some punches on behalf of her principal. After a gun violence prevention event at the White House, Harris took the opportunity to respond to the findings in the report.
While speaking to reporters, Harris noted that Biden’s interviews with Hur happened just after the October 7 attack by Hamas. 1,200 people had lost their lives while about 250 were in the terrorist’s captivity.

“It was an intense moment for the Commander in Chief of the United States of America,” she remarked. She added that she had spent lots of time with the President days after and said he was “on top of it all.”
“The way that the President’s demeanor in that report was characterized could not be more wrong on the facts and clearly politically motivated,” she alleged. She also questioned the Special Counsel’s integrity. Harris’s comments come just a day after the President criticized the report, assuring voters he was fit to lead.
