President Joe Biden recently fired at a reporter for asking him a question he believed was stupid. This comes as the president travels across the nation to seek re-election for another term. Shortly after the incident happened, someone posted the video online.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the democratic candidate arrived at Philadelphia International Airport to an audience. In the video posted on YouTube, the president took pictures with some individuals when the reporter asked a question. The reporter, Steven Nelson, had inquired to know if Biden wins his reelection would choose to see his full term or hand power to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Originally, the president had refused to answer the questions, prompting Nelson to ask again. However, this time, Biden decided not to let it go and asked if the person was okay, making hand gestures. Biden continued, asking whether he was hurt, before asking him if he fell on his head.
The altercation occurred some moment before Biden gave a speech at the Girard College gym rally. The question came as a result of Biden’s age, a topic that has been of concern to several Americans. Biden was originally elected in 2020 at the age of 78, making him the oldest president in the history of the nation. If re-elected in November 2024, Biden would be 82 by the time of his inauguration and 86 when he leaves office in 2029.

According to polls conducted by the New York Times, at least 61% of voters are concerned about Biden’s age. They claim that his age would most likely be a factor in his administration. Meanwhile, despite Trump being 77, only 42% of voters are worried about his age.
Republicans sometimes claim that supporting Biden would be the same as voting for Harris, whom they believe would succeed him. Majority of Americans doubt Biden’s capacity to serve an eight-year term.
In preparation for the November 5, 2024, general election, Biden traveled back to his home state alongside Harris in a bid to secure black voters. Harris gave the first address in which she focused on the republican candidate, Trump. She claimed that if Trump gets reelected, he is going to go even further. She added that the person who sits in the Oval Office matters.

When Biden took the platform, he described Trump as unbothered, as the latter wanted to use of tear gas during the BLM protests in 2020. Following the death of George Floyd in May 2020, there was a nationwide protest. In driving home his point, Biden asked what Trump would have done if it were black people who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
According to Biden, the reason he won the general election in 2020 was because the black community supported him. He further promised that, upon reelection, he would sign the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. He also spoke on making Roe v. Wade, a pro-abortion ruling, the law of the nation again.

A spokesperson from the Biden campaign claimed about 1,000 people attended the Girard College event, packing the floor and seating sections of the prep school arena almost half full.
The reason for the low turnout was not immediately apparent, but Biden has faced criticism from hecklers at previous public appearances for his support of Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip.
