“I was just very honest with him. I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life. also, I knew that I couldn’t have met him at a worse time SO, I took my trust out for a ridiculous joyride with him.
Hathaway declared she believed what happened to her with Follieri did not make her lose the belief that people are good and that Shulman was a good person.
Although she wasn’t in a good place when they met, she followed her instincts, and she was right because Shulman never hurt her. As the days went on, so did their relationship kept getting better.
Nine years from their California wedding weekend with more than 150 guests, the couple have become parents to two children and remained strong and committed to each other.
Hathaway’s Feelings About Being Pregnant
Since her marriage to Shulman, Hathaway and her husband have welcomed two adorable sons, Jonathan, who is almost six, and Jack, two years old.
During a recent interview with “WSJ Magazine,” the actress disclosed she could see her and Shulman going for another child. However, Hathaway also revealed that getting pregnant can be pretty complicated. The actress revealed:
“There’s this tendency to portray getting pregnant, having kids, in one light, as if it’s all positive. But I know from my own experience…it’s so much more complicated than that.”
The actress further explained that her pregnancy struggles caused her pains, but she isn’t embarrassed to talk about it because grief is part of life. Also, knowing that others share her pain made her feel she wasn’t isolated.
According to Hathaway, being a mum has made her whole, which was missing before the birth of her children. Hathaway declared:
“I didn’t feel fully landed and fully here until I was a mom. It’s not like I was lacking integrity, but it made me want to be completely, on every level, true to my word.”
Being a mom also stopped the conflicting feelings she felt within herself. It also made the talented actress more committed to her craft.
Hathaway Struggled With Infertility Issues
During the early stages of her marriage, Hathaway struggled to get pregnant due to infertility issues. The actress would even get more heartbroken at the sight of any pregnant woman.
Thankfully after years of struggles, Hathaway eventually became pregnant. After the birth of her first child, the actress, and her husband struggled to make another.
Their prayers got answered, and Hathaway became pregnant for the second time. The actress couldn’t contain her joy, and she shared a picture of herself with a burgeoning baby bump on instagram.
However, Hathaway felt it was essential to use the occasion to share her pregnancy struggles. She subsequently captioned the picture:
“For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.”
Hathaway also clarified the post wasn’t for a movie. Nevertheless, millions of people rushed to like the post, and thousands sent her messages of support in the comment section.
While speaking to the “Daily Mail” months after, Hathaway pointed out that although conception issues are common yet it’s a topic people don’t discuss. The actress also reinforced the need to support people struggling to conceive.
The actress disclosed that she felt heartbroken watching people conceive while she couldn’t. So, when she was writing her Instagram post, Hathaway was also thinking of a follower who might be going through the same thing and can’t understand why. She wanted someone like that to understand it wasn’t easy for her as well.
Hathaway Keeps Her Family Life Private
Like most Hollywood stars, Hathaway is very private about her family life. However, the actress is very guarded when it comes to her children. She rarely shares pictures of her sons or any other information about them.
During an interview, Hathway revealed she would firmly be against her kids starting their acting careers at a young age. The actress declared she would use the same format her parents used with her, making sure her sons have all the time to be kids.
The mother of two will encourage her kids to study, attend classes, read and be in a position to go to college so they can choose their career paths.
