In a turn of events, Democrat representatives seem to have confused one holiday with another, in a now-deleted post. The two representatives who claim to be members of the far-left democrats have mixed up two different holidays in their online tributes.

On Monday, May 27, 2024, Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri upload a tribute on their X page celebrating Memorial Day. However, from their write-up, they seemed to have confused Memorial Day with Veterans Day. In their posts, they were also seen to launch an idea for government expansion.

As we all know, Memorial Day is a day to honor the lives of soldiers who died in active duty. It is a day where we honor the lives of American soldiers who have their lives to protect and defend America’s freedom. On Memorial Day millions of Americans across the country commemorate the ultimate sacrifices made by our heroes throughout history.

Since the Revolutionary War which ended in 1783 which marked the nation’s founding over one million Americans have died in active duty. This includes American troops that died during the Civil War, the World Wars, and every other military campaign carried out by the United States.

Many Americans proudly display the flag on their boats, houses, and yards as a tribute to the fallen heroes. Some people go as far as painting their property the color of the flag.

However, over the years, some individuals have begun to lose sight of what the holiday is about. During the three-day holiday, people now relax and engage in recreational activities. Over time, the holidays have become associated with bodies of water, boats, cookouts, and cool beverages.

However, Bush and Omar are not part of that group. The duo started their post by acknowledging veterans rather than fallen soldiers. Despite taking one event for the other, that was not their biggest mistake. They found a way to make a post supposedly honoring veterans into a platform for their personal political beliefs.

On Omar’s X post, she said that on this holiday, we celebrate the courageous men and women who served the country. The veterans had done enough to secure access to the best mental health care, employment prospects, and the benefits promised to them. The Minnesota Democrat said in the end that Americans owe them more than our appreciation.

Meanwhile, in Bush’s post, she wrote that on this day, and every other day, she acknowledges every soldier in St. Louis. She suggested focusing on healthcare, housing, mental health, and aid for veterans to prevent conflict.

The congresswomen were heavily criticized before their posts were deleted. Fortunately, Libs from TikTok managed to capture screenshots of both postings before it were taken down.
