Kanye West’s 10-year-old daughter, North West, is following in her father’s footsteps. On March 10th, she announced that she plans to release her debut album. She shared this news at an Arizona-based listening party for her father’s forthcoming record, Vultures 2.
“I’ve been working on an album,” she told the crowd as she stood beside her father. “And it’s called Elementary School Dropout.” North is Kanye’s first child with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Together, the ex-couple had four children: Saint, eight; Chicago, six; and Psalm, four.
North is the most popular of all four kids, and many believe she shares the most striking similarities with her father. She’s a music lover just like him and follows him for his shows often. As soon as the news broke out, it was clear that the title paid homage to her father’s debut album, “The College Dropout.”
He released it in 2004, and it was what propelled him into the music scene. Twenty years later, the record still sounds “instantly iconic” and “sonically fresh,” according to a feature by The Independent’s Nadine Smith.

While dropping an album at ten years old does not happen daily, many were not shocked by the news. She featured on Kanye’s two-part track “Talking/Once Again” in his most recent album, Vultures 1.
Before dropping the album, he dropped the video with North rapping in it. The “Donda” rapper shared the video on his Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). In the clip, North is getting her hair done and smiling with her dad while rapping the first verse. It goes thus: “It’s your bestie, miss Miss Westie/Don’t try to test me/It’s gonna get messy/It’s gonna get messy/Just, just bless me.”

In December, she was on stage with her father and a couple of other rappers, including Ty $ Sign and Offset. There, she vibed with the songs and showed her rap skills. Therefore, Miss West is gaining a lot of industry points.
With her father being one of the greatest rappers ever to do it, she has excellent prospects for a music career. Her mum, Kim, also has the social media world in hand, so she can capitalize on that, too. However, some sources speculate that Kim thinks it’s too early for her daughter to enter the music industry.

As North is not even a teenager yet, she makes a solid point. However, Kanye’s mantra is to always allow his kids a lot of creative freedom. Therefore, if the kid insists on following her dad’s footsteps, there’s little Kim can do.
North’s persona on the internet is outspoken and bold, just like her dad. The industry knows Kanye has many controversial beliefs, and his rants go on for long. However, his musical talent cannot be denied, and North West seems to have inherited it.
