This year’s Met Gala saw public figures who were regulars at the charity ball join newer faces who made their debut on the Met Gala red carpet.
This year, the Met Gala fashion exhibition had some of its regular celebrities make honorable appearances and flaunt their sense of style. One notable fact was that they were joined by newbies.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art also had new generation stars grace the occasion. New Met Gala faces like Lil Nas X, Amanda Gorman, Addison Rae, and Barbie Ferreira all strutted their stuff. Check out some of their looks.
Lil Nas X
The headline-making music star became famous only a few years ago, but he has proved to a fashionista who does not mind boundaries. Lil Nas X channeled this energy and one that reminded fans of Lady Gaga’s 2019 Met Gala display.
The “Montero ” crooner rocked three outfits which he shed on the red carpet to reveal each look. The first outfit was a large royal-like cape that covered him and flowed around his feet. The other looks included an armor and a fitted jumpsuit.
Timothée Chalamet
Hollywood actor Timothée’s appearance at the Met ball could be considered a double debut. He attended as both a first-timer and a co-chairperson. Chalamet rocked an all-white look from Haider Ackermann.
Maisie Williams
The “Game of Thrones” actress made sure her first look was unforgettable as she stepped out in contrast to Chalamet’s display. Williams rocked a gothic look from Thom Browne.
Ella Emhoff
Emhoff, a young model signed to IMG, clad her figure in a crimson look from Stella McCartney. The whorl-patterned outfit included mesh details and baggy pants. Emhoff also rocked a pair of matching sneakers.
Amanda Gorman
The 23-year-old inaugural poet dazzled in a blue flowing tube dress. She paid homage to the Statue of Liberty with her matching clutch purse. Gorman also sported laurels in her hair as a nod to the word “poet laureate.”
Barbie Ferreira.
“Euphoria” star made sure her first Met Gala was memorable, as she donned a pearly dress with frills at the hem. Ferreira accentuated her look with smokey makeup look, and a pearly headpiece on her forehead.
Keke Palmer
Keke Palmer stepped out on the Met Gala evening, debuting as a guest and a first-time host. The star actress rocked a shimmery Louis Vuitton dress with a very low back that clung to her figure.
Saweetie
Star rapper, Saweetie, who never spears details in her fashion choices, arrived in a shimmery red dress. The outfit bore cutouts at the waist and a colorful mesh cape. The cape flowed around her feet and extended over the red carpet floor.
Natalia Bryant
The eldest daughter of the late basketball icon Kobe Bryant donned a Connor Ives gown. Natalia’s dress had a bubble-like shape around the waist and a lengthy train. Anna Wintour was said to have approved the dress for the young model’s first Met ball look.
