The FBI has confirmed the arrest of the last suspect indicted in a Georgia drug conspiracy case. They captured David Young on March 9th in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Young was recently featured on “America’s Most Wanted” list, and Mexican police helped to arrest him over the weekend while he was on the run.

There were 76 people whom the authorities suspected as part of the drug conspiracy case called “Operation Ghost Busted” (OGB). This operation was tied to the Ghost Face Gangsters street gang. However, the authorities captured all except one.

Young was the last of the bunch, who eluded the police for an extended period. In December 2022, the feds issued a federal arrest warrant for him out of Georgia. This was after they charged him with conspiracy to possess with intent to have and distribute a controlled substance.

At the time, Supervisory Senior Resident Agent of FBI Atlanta’s Savannah Office Will Clarke sent out a press release addressing the gang’s investigation. “Gangs that operate out of our prison systems not only bring drugs and violence into prison facilities – they also breed drug-fueled violence in our communities,” he said.

“We are committed to dismantling violent gangs like the Ghost Face Gangsters and holding their members and those who conspire with them accountable for criminal conduct,” he added. Earlier this year, AMW featured Young on a February 19th episode centered around Ghost Face Gangsters.

According to the report, his alias is “Khaos.” The prison gang originated from the Georgia penal system, so they are as dangerous as they come.

After the authorities caught Young, they transferred him to the United States. The OGB case included investigations from Glynn County police, federal investigators, and other agencies. Their mission was to end a “massive, gang-related drug trafficking conspiracy that led to multiple convictions,” officials said.

One of the multiple convictions included an individual called James D. NeSmith. He is currently in prison serving a life sentence for both murder and numerous drug-related crimes, according to Glynn County police. The police also said that NeSmith’s collaborators worked with other criminal and white supremacist street gangs around the state.

Young is also one of NeSmith’s collaborators. The drug conspiracy case remains the most significant indictment in the history of the Southern District of Georgia, according to the FBI. The group distributed large amounts of high-grade methamphetamine, along with fentanyl, heroin, and alprazolam, in the greater Glynn County area, a Department of Justice news release said.

Other gang members include Justin “ATL” Cayne Ramsey, 24, of Locust Grove; William “Chevy” Autrey Tyree, 35, of Newnan; Kyle “Chi-Town” Ray Conley, 40, of Augusta; Aubrie “Bri 7” Leigh Brown, 29, of Austell; and Spencer Todd Wix, 31, of Villa Rica. They all entered negotiated plea deals.

FBI Atlanta officials also thanked the FBI Phoenix, the Tucson Resident Agency, and the FBI office in Mexico for their assistance in the capture.
