50 Cent and Vivica A. Fox were once the hottest couples in Hollywood. But sadly, their romance ended as quickly as it began.
American “gangsta” rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was at the height of his career in 2003. After releasing his debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin,” he became the hottest hip-hop artist in the industry. The Album, which both Eminem and Dr. Dre produced, sold 872,000 copies in the first week of its release.
Just like 5o Cent, Vivica A. Fox was also at the peak of her career in 2003. She had starred in two box office hits, “Independence Day” and “Set It Off.” The actress also portrayed Vernita Green in the classic movie “Kill Bill” by Quentin Tarantino.
50 Cent and Vivica A. Fox met at the Soul Train Music Awards in 2003. After winning the award as the “Best New Artist,” 50 Cent thanked Fox for “wearing that dress” during his acceptance speech.
After that, the rapper’s camp got in touch with Fox, and very quickly, the two started a romantic relationship. At the time, they became one of the hottest celebrity couples in Hollywood.
Sadly, their relationship fizzled out very quickly. Their romance which was supposed to be a match made in heaven, soon turned into a war of words.
50 Cent and Vivica A. Fox’s Public Spats
Shortly after their relationship ended, Fox appeared on the “Tyra Banks Show” in September 2005. During the show, the actress spoke about their short-lived romance.
The actress expressed her concern about being painted as the bad guy by the press after their breakup. She then accused 50 Cent of its reason, revealing that the rapper had been accusing her of using their relationship as a publicity stunt.
Fox disclosed she considered his accusations a form of “ghetto love,” and maybe it was his way of accepting they were no longer an item.
In December 2009, four years after Fox’s interview, 50 Cent also appeared on the ‘Tyra Banks Show.” Speaking to Banks, the rapper disclosed that he and Fox have reconciled. 50 cent also revealed he offered her a role in one of his music videos. True to his word, Fox starred as his ex in the video for his song “Do You Think About Me.”
50 Cent and Fox Reignite Their Feud
It looked like the two had forgotten about each other until 2015, when Fox questioned 50 Cent’s sexuality on TV. Then, in October 2015, the actress appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” with host Andy Cohen.
Cohen asked Fox, who was starring in the series “Empire,” what she thought about 50 cent’s now-deleted Instagram comment, blaming the show’s dip in ratings on the plotlines featuring too much “gay stuff.”
The actress, in her reply, threw a shot at 50 Cent when she replied the rapper was the “pot calling the kettle black.” She added that the ex-couple had a great time when they dated, but it seemed like the rapper’s got something that’s not entirely clear. Her comments stunned viewers because the actress had just insinuated that 50 Cent was gay.
50 Cent Replies Fox
As expected, 50 Cent didn’t take Fox’s comments well. Instead, he attacked her on social media by sharing ugly pictures of Fox, including one where she wore a low-cut dress with the words “really bad boob job!” written over the image. The rapper wrote:
“B—h remember when you told me f—k Halle Berry and you could have played all the roles she did better than her? And I just looked at you like what the f—k kind s—t did you take? LMAO”
A month later, Fox addressed the backlash telling People Magazine that she only voiced her opinion because that’s the type of person she is. Also, she was tired of people talking about the gay storyline in “Empire” and that she would not take what she said about 50 Cent back.
The actress disclosed she was standing up for her co-stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, and she has no regrets whatsoever. Fox then threw another shot at 50 Cent, saying he looked like a “booty snatcher” when he appeared with Soulja Boy on the cover of “XXL” in November 2010.
Almost a year passed before 50 Cent reignited their feud. Then, the rapper shared a picture of a woman with botched plastic surgery opposite that of Fox, which he captioned:
“I don’t know why people would want to cross me. I would stay out of my way if I wasn’t me because I’m gonna keep winning.
A month later, 50 Cent appeared on “Watch What Happens Live,” where Fox had called him gay. However, he disclosed that the only reason the actress would question his sexuality was that he allowed her to lick his ass.
Fox subsequently blasted him on Instagram before challenging him to appear on the show together to address their beef.
50 Cent and Fox Have Squashed Their Beef
In 2017 while appearing on “The Wendy Williams Show,” Fox revealed she and 50 Cent ran into each other at a New York Knick’s game and made peace. According to her, someone had to be the bigger person, and she hated feuding with him.
She reportedly walked up to him and said, “Happy New Year,” adding it was time they stop their feud. The actress expressed feeling relieved after they made peace and would always love the rapper because he was her true love.
Fox reiterated her feelings for 50 Cent during an interview with “VladTv” in 2021. The actress declared the rapper will always hold a special place in her heart. However, she blamed their relationship for going public too fast. Fox explained that if she had the chance to date 50 Cent again, she would keep their relationship private for long.
A couple of days later, 50 Cent addressed Fox’s comments in an interview with Kris Kaylin. The rapper disclosed that the pair were connected when they dated but that the publicity of their relationship destroyed everything. He is also currently dating Cuban Link.
