After dropping his last album in 2015, popular Russian-German producer Zedd has released a new album. The album, which is titled “Telos,” comes nearly a decade after the release of his last album, “True Colors.”

On August 30, 2024, Zedd, whose real name is Anton Zaslavski, released his third album, which consists of 10 tracks in total. The album track list consists of notable features such as John Mayer, Muse, Remi Wolf, Bea Miller, and others.

Zedd Speaks on His New Album

Speaking on his album, Zedd revealed that the album and its title, “Telos,” meant two things to him, with the first being the completion of a goal. Speaking of the album’s title. Zedd said, “Another meaning of Telos is ‘the end,’ and I, for a minute, thought maybe this would be the last piece of music that I would ever release.”

He continued, “I was really overworked, I was burned out, and musically, I felt like I had poured my entire soul into this album and have nothing left to say.” Despite the space between his recent and previous albums totaling 9 years, Zedd remained active in the music scene.

In addition to releasing hits like “Stay” with Alessia Cara and “The Middle” with Maren Morris and Grey, Zedd also participated in touring. Speaking on his album, he stated that he intended to create a perfect album that required more time and effort.

Zedd found making the record excruciating, yet considering releasing “Telos” as a career finale makes sharing the final project rewarding. He said, “If you know that something is going to be the last thing you ever do, you better make it perfect. This may be like my legacy. I better do exactly what I want to do with this album.'”

Despite his earlier intentions to make “Telos” his last album, Zedd stated that his stance has changed since the album was released. Zedd said, “I had a little week to breathe; I’ve already started writing new music, so I’m happy to say it’s not the end yet.”

Zedd Speaks About AI’s Impact on His Music

Preparing for the release of his album, Zedd pre-released two singles, “Out of Time” with Miller and “Lucky” with Wolf. Teaming up with Intel, Zedd was able to create an interactive AI experience that brought the “Telos” cover to life.

Realizing that fans wanted an early taste of “Telos” before the release of the full album, he selected ”Out of Time” and “Lucky.” Zedd said, “‘Out of Time’ sets the mood. It’s the beginning of the album, and it really sort of has a little bit of everything.”
