According to gossip blogs, Drake once poured hot sauce into a condom to kill the sperm. But does that process really work?
Being one of the biggest rappers in the world means one’s name is constantly in the news for many different reasons. However, Drake is a celebrity who enjoys having his name in the news. Whether it’s about his music or a romantic date, the “One Dance” crooner’s name will always be headline news.
However, in January 2022, Drake’s name appeared in many news outlets and gossip blogs due to a story posted by a gossip account called “Too Much Hot Tea.” According to the report, Drake hooked up with an unnamed Instagram model a few weeks before the post.
After they had both attended a party together, Drake and the lady reportedly ended up in his hotel room, where they smoked weed and had sex. According to the story, Drake had sex wearing a condom and then disposed of it in the bathroom afterward. However, the Instagram model he’d slept with nurtured an ulterior motive: to impregnate herself.
As such, she sought the used condom from the trash and subsequently poured the contents into her vagina. Unfortunately for her, she said it felt like “pouring hot lava into her vagina.” The Instagram model reportedly screamed out, after which Drake then ran to the room after hearing her screams.
Once he realized what had happened, the rapper revealed he’d poured a packet of hot sauce into the condom in an unorthodox attempt to kill the sperm. Although according to the reports, the model wanted to sue Drake for what happened, she never did. Meanwhile, after the news came out, Drake slightly addressed it with an Instagram post captioned:
“You can have your 15 minutes of fame…I’ll take the other 23 hours and 45 mins.” Ouch, all around.”
Can Hot Sauce Kill Sperm?
When the news about the hot sauce incident broke, it raised another question that most people had never considered before: Does hot sauce kill sperm? Drake’s attempt to neutralize his sperm initiated the discussion about if hot sauce can act as a potent spermicide.
While most people didn’t believe the process would work, others speculated it might be because of the capsaicin and vinegar present in hot sauces. As some people suggested, capsaicin, a chemical found in chili peppers, can act as a spermicide. It is also what makes chili pepper able to burn the tongue and sometimes the skin.
Meanwhile, some people explained Vinegar and other acidic liquids like lemon juice could prevent pregnancy by killing sperm. However, according to research, while it is true
that sperm does not thrive in acidic environments; there is no direct causal evidence that vinegar kills sperm.
Also, while it is possible that capsaicin would kill sperm, no direct evidence proves it. Therefore, using hot sauce to kill sperm has no medically based proof behind it. As such, medical professionals strongly recommend against using hot sauce as a spermicidal agent.
Likely Reasons Behind Drake’s Hot Sauce Move
Pouring hot sauce into a condom might sound a bit weird to some, but not Drake’s fans who diligently follow the rapper’s life. In his song “Wasting Time” with Brent Faiyaz, Drake rapped about doing everything possible to ensure women don’t collect his sperm. He said:
“Gold medalist, flushed the Magnums just so they not collectin’ my specimens, damn.”
The hot sauce news came after the rapper welcomed a son with former porn actress Sophie Brussaux. According to Drake, the pair only met twice before Sophie became pregnant, which was not something the rapper planned. Again in his song “March 14” from the album “Scorpion,” he rapped:
“S**t, we only met two times, two times / I used to challenge my parents on every album / Now I’m embarrassed to tell them I ended up as a co-parent / Always promised the family unit / I wanted it to be different because I’ve been through it.”
The rapper even conducted two DNA tests to confirm if he was the father or not. In an interview with Rap Radar, Drake explained the first DNA test got ruined in transit, and they couldn’t be 100% sure. However, the second DNA test confirmed he was the father.
He explained that these were the reasons why it took him a while before he announced he had become a father. However, since his birth, Drake has embraced his role as father and even had Sophie move to Canada so he could be with his son.
