Former President Donald Trump finds himself in a bit of trouble again, this time in New York City, where he’s tangled up in legal issues over hush money payments dating back to 2016. The charges? Crimes related to payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, making it the first time ever that a U.S. president is charged with such issues.
In the courtroom, Trump, flanked by his legal team, made his way out after the second week of the trial. In his speech to reporters, he maintained his stance: “no case.” With court adjourned until Tuesday, the drama is on hold for now, but the tension remains very felt.
Gary Farro, a banker who was involved in the events surrounding the payments testified about some of the urgent messages from Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen.
Farro spoke about the creation of shell companies that were reportedly used to make payments and even though there was a lot of paperwork, there was no proof of the said transactions or payments which made the prosecutors paint a picture of a deal not made.

Rhona Graff, Trump’s long-time executive assistant, became the center of this story as it went on. With her testimony, Graff spoke about Trump’s contacts, including those who Trump was said to be involved in Romantic relations with. Her presence in court seemed to get jurors excited, which showed that the trials will only get more and more intense.
But in all of the courtroom drama, there have also been attempts to downplay Graff’s testimony about possible TV appearances by Stormy Daniels as ordinary information but these attempts did not follow through.
Graff worked for the Trump Organization for 34 years, beginning in October 1987, and testified that she was responsible for keeping Trump’s contacts and calendars.
Graff said those contacts included Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels. Graff testified that she created the contact entry for Karen McDougal that included two addresses, a cell phone number, and an email address.

“It contains her mobile phone number,” Graff said. “I have a vague recollection of seeing her in the reception area on the 26th floor.”
David Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer, also took the stand. He spoke about all the media frenzy around Trump’s alleged affairs. Pecker’s stories speak about a balance between media, politics, and personal interests.
As Pecker continued to testify, it became clear that there is much more than what is on the surface and what is in the media. As he continued to speak, we began to see much more about Trump’s inner circle and the kinds of relationships he keeps.

Meanwhile, Trump’s social media presence continues to get more interesting, with complaints about denying access for his supporters outside court. Despite his claims, a small group of protesters continues to speak up in the designated protest area outside the courtroom as the drama in the courtroom continues.
