Authorities Arrest Kidnapping Suspect After Home Security Camera Shows Woman Carried Away

A recent incident that happened in Oregon has shaken the community after a doorbell camera captured footage capturing a woman being kidnapped and forced into a car.

The Hillsboro Police Department in the early hours of Monday morning received a very distressing report which showed the very disturbing event which was caught on a local resident’s doorbell camera.

The video showed a woman visibly and audibly crying for help as she was taken by force by a man around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday. The incident happened around Southeast 32nd Ave and East Main Street in Hillsboro.

People who witnessed this said that the woman desperately called for help as she was lifted and carried away by the man who kidnapped her. In the video footage reviewed by NBC affiliate KGW of Portland, the victim’s cries of “Please help me! Please help me!” echoed through the night as she was carried away by the man.

The police noted that they departed the scene in a white pickup truck. A man with a beard appears to approach and to carry her away against her will, police said.

The woman was “crying for help before she was picked up and carried away by the above pictured male,” police said in the bulletin, which included some pictures of the woman and man taken from the video footage. “They appear to have left in a white pickup,” police said.

Following the release of still images from the video, the authorities reached out to the public for some help in figuring out who the suspect and the victim were.

Despite some of the efforts, the woman who lives at the home where the footage was captured said that she did not recognize the man or the woman. She described the victim’s expression as one of sheer terror, and it showed in her shaky voice and attempt to hold on to the door as the man tried to take her away.

Fortunately, by the early hours of Tuesday, both the suspect and the victim were identified and located, bringing a sense of relief to the community. The suspect was caught and charged with kidnapping, while the victim was confirmed to be safe in police custody.

Although the authorities are not letting the public know the identities of the man or the woman, they did reassure the public that the incident was not a random act of violence.

According to the police, the suspect and victim knew each other pretty well, indicating that the abduction was not just a  random assault. Even though the police aren’t giving all the details of this case, they emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
