San Antonio police have arrested the father and son fingered in the killing of Savanah Soto, a pregnant teen, and her boyfriend. Christopher Preciado, 19, and his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, were taken in after they were implicated by the victim’s cell phone.

Christopher will face capital murder, abuse of corpses, and alter/destroy/conceal human corpse charges. His father, who police say wasn’t an accomplice to the killing, Ramon Preciado, 53, will face abuse of a corpse and alter/destroy/conceal human corpse charges.

Police say Christopher shot Soto, 18, and her boyfriend, Matthew Guerra, 22, in Guerra’s car. San Antonio police Sgt. Washington Moscoso told the press that a drug deal gone wrong seems to have caused the deaths.

Although only Christopher did the shooting, according to the police, he got some help from his father to drag the victim’s bodies to the street.

Soto’s family declared her missing after they filed a missing person report on December 23, 2023. She was last seen on December 21, 2023, the night the police believed that the killing took place.

A post by the San Antonio Police Department Chief on X read, “Last night, the San Antonio Police Department arrested 2 people, a father and his teenage son, in connection with the murders of Savanah Soto and Matthew Guerra.” He attributed the suspects’ apprehension to “GREAT investigative work done by SAPD homicide detectives!!!”

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Guerra drove to Christopher’s house to sell him some marijuana on December 21, 2023. According to Christopher, Guerra pointed a gun at him. Christopher then “manipulated the weapon,” which led to Soto’s shooting.

Christopher also said that a while later, Guerra again pointed the gun at him. Yet again, Christopher “manipulated” the weapon. This time, it was Guerra at the receiving end. A medical examiner had already declared the cause of Guerra’s death to be a “contact gunshot wound to the head.”

The arrest warrant affidavit also says that after the shooting, Christopher drove Guerra’s car down Danny Kaye Drive to an apartment complex. This was where the police discovered the bodies five days later.

According to his own testimony, Ramon Preciado said he drove a pickup to the apartment complex to assist his son. A CCTV camera captured their meeting and showed Ramon exiting his van to speak with his son.

Police said it was the cell phone of one of the victims that gave the suspects up. The phone had searched the address of the suspects on Google Maps. In the end, the police found the bodies two blocks away from the home where they believed the suspect had parked the vehicle.

Police say Ramon didn’t resist his arrest, plus he confessed to the detectives that he knew why they were at his home.

The San Antonio Police Department is still trying to figure out if there could be additional charges against Christopher. The department is working with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office to see if Christopher should face further punishment for the death of Soto’s unborn child.

The affidavit revealed that Soto had named the child Fabian. Unfortunately, Fabian never got the chance to use the name.
