Right-wing politicians and energy industry stakeholders are intensifying their opposition to President Biden’s climate policies. The latest push against the troubled policy came through a letter urging GOP leaders to amplify their resistance to the Green New Deal.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has a lot more pressure to deal with concerning Biden’s controversial climate ambitions. Several climate and energy groups are demanding more action from him to stop the “disaster” they believe is imminent.
These groups include the American Energy Institute (AEI), the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC), the Heartland Institute, and the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT).
In a letter addressed to the Speaker and House Majority Leader, Steve Scalise, R-La., the groups were precise about their views on Biden’s energy policies.

“In addition to 2023’s climate science claims falling far short of reality and honesty, President Biden’s Green New Deal climate policy agenda is also in rapid meltdown and countdown to disaster,” a part of the letter read.
The group backed up their letter with facts, figures, and expert opinions. They added an additional 13-page report which debunked many of President Biden’s claims about the climate.
The report contrasted sharply with Biden’s assertions about decreasing populations of the monarch butterflies. It also rubbished many of his claims about rising global temperatures.
The letter also didn’t fail to reel out the failures and disappointments that emerged from the president’s climate policy. The letter expressed worry over the daily “news of some sort of EV disaster or problem.”

The letter listed some of these mishaps, which included the promotion by the EV supply chain of child slave labor in the Congo. The letter also mentioned “Communist China-sourcing of key materials and parts” and “lower consumer demand because of high prices.”
Others include “inconvenience and poor performance/failure,” “auto industry financial losses,” and “job cuts and labor problems.” To cap it up, “the utter waste of taxpayer money through Inflation Reduction Act subsidies and programs.”
However, the letter didn’t end without declaring that “EVs are becoming a casebook study in the failure of government industrial policy.”
“Taxpayers are subsidizing this disaster at the rate of $50,000 per EV over 10 years,” the letter reminded speaker Johnson. Moreover, the letter said that this amount is the equivalent of $17.33 for every gallon of gasoline.

The climate and energy firms believe that all the efforts and hardships the policy has imposed on the American people will amount to nothing significant. “There’s not a single chance that EVs will ever improve the climate or environment,” the letter read.
Earlier, the House had, in a vote, frowned at the President’s “Buy America” demands for taxpayer-funded EV charging stations. The vote was to reverse the presidential Waiver of Buy America Requirements for Electric Vehicle Chargers. House GOP members contended that the policy would give Chinese manufacturers an advantage in a market the Asians already dominate.
In closing, the letter expressed optimism that their agitations will bear fruit. “As Congress addresses these vital issues in 2024 and beyond, we hope you will take note of these developments,” it said.
