Allegheny County Officers say a man who drew a firearm on a preacher at a parish is convicted of killing his cousin, who was discovered dead. After reportedly trying to fire at Rev. Glenn Germany during his message at the Jesus Dwelling Place Church, 26-year-old Bernard Junior Polite was taken into custody.

A church deacon engaged Polite from behind during the altercation, which was caught on camera after his weapon malfunctioned. Authorities said that following Polite’s apprehension, a fifty-six-year-old man named Derek Polite’s body was discovered lifeless at the suspect’s residence.

The police announced that the culprit had been convicted of the murder of a man, who they claimed to be his cousin. Investigators spoke with those present who claimed to have seen the perpetrator walking around the premises on the day of the church shooting, and a resident claimed to have heard what may have been a firearm shot.

Before his trial, Polite is being detained in prison. In a prosecution query, Polite is said to have admitted to trying to murder the clergyman, telling an officer that God instructed “me to do it.”

The preacher revealed in a conversation with Good Morning America that it was a miracle he escaped the murder. “It was a miracle that the weapon was seized when he fired the weapon. There was a signature on that bullet,” Germany stated.

The preacher told Good Morning America that he witnessed the gunman walk into the church and that the man chuckled at him. Afterward, he approached the preacher and raised his firearm to threaten him; Deacon Clarence McCallister confronted him as Germany ducked below a pulpit.

McCallister recounted the experience to Good Morning America: “I just rushed up and dragged his hand down to his back and bound him.” The deacon was fast and bold enough to act. He went all out to save a life by putting his own in line for it. This was a heroic move.

According to the law enforcement leader, perpetrator Bernard Polite was connected to both crime locations by a compilation of ballistics proof and observer accounts. According to Kearns, just before ten in the morning, one witness for him (was) at the house’s entrance.

At approximately 10, someone else reported hearing what they thought to be a shooting. It is still the Allegheny County Prison where Bernard Polite is being held. If he had legal representation, it was not instantly known. He has been scheduled for an initial trial.
