Adam and Danielle Busby have been navigating life in the spotlight with their daughters, and now the couple has suggested they might choose not to have male children.
The Busby family is filled with laughter and a bunch of kids, but the couple recently opened up about being open to adoption. However, they seem to have a clause for adopting a child.
The multiple-birth parents made it known that they had mixed feelings about adopting a male child. This mostly stemmed from the arrangement at their home.
Adopting A Male Child
The famous duo relayed that they had mixed feelings about adding a boy to the large family. This was in concern of the fact that the all-tier children were girls.
The couple’s oldest child is ten-year-old Blayke, and she has five younger sisters who were born as quintuplets. Danielle shared about the terms of adoption:
“We would leave that up to the situation, but if it was a boy … I don’t know what we would do.”
Adam continued as he shared that if he and his wife decided to adopt, they do not think it would be a boy. The star dad added that having a boy would “complicate a lot of things.”
However, he stressed that they were open-minded about adoption. Despite Adam and Danielle’s logical reasoning about gender, the couple does long for a male child.
Danielle had a hysterectomy, therefore closing out any options of giving birth to a boy. However, the couple named their store after the son they never had. Their pet Frenchie, Greyson Bee, was also named after the male child.
What They Think About Another Addition To The Family
Danielle,37, and Adam will keep their minds open about adoption. But there is no denying that they have their hands full with Blayke, Haze, Riley, Ava, Parker, and Olivia.
The couple often got questions about the possibility of expanding their famous family, but they have kept their answer the same for years. Adam once confirmed it in an interview.
In 2015, he revealed that their family was complete, and they were not down for another baby. He shared that they would not try for a boy adding that the “shop is closed!”
Danielle echoed her hubby’s opinion in another interview, noting that there would be no more children unless “God put it in our hearts to adopt.” However, she added that it would be nice to have a baby that will “carry on the Busby name.”
The Busbys Experienced Infertility
The “Outdaughtered” parents might be famous for their multiple births that spawned a TV show, but it wasn’t always like this. There was a time they struggled with infertility issues.
After Adam and Danielle got married, they could not have kids for two years. Danielle opened up on their family’s blog that they had no idea how to handle infertility.
Ultimately, they were able to conceive via intrauterine insemination, also known as IUI. After Blayke was born, the two wanted more kids, so they kept up with the IUIs, and Danielle soon found she was pregnant again.
She and her husband would later find out they were having five babies. The pregnancy was also difficult because Danielle had polycystic ovary syndrome [PCOS]. However, after childbirth, the pair knew they were done with the child-bearing department.
