The legal turmoil happening around President Donald Trump has been intensifying. Allegations claim he is behind the attempt to subvert the 2020 election results and the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
And now, new court documents that contain more details of his alleged actions have come to light. Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the prosecution, presented the new evidence. It claims Trump deliberately had his supporters go to the Capitol to hamper the certification of the 2020 presidential election results.
According to Smith: “Evidence of the defendant’s post-conspiracy embrace of particularly violent and notorious rioters is admissible to establish the defendant’s motive and intent on January 6 — that he sent supporters, including groups like the Proud Boys, whom he knew were angry, and whom he now calls ‘patriots,’ to the Capitol to achieve the criminal objective of obstructing the congressional certification.”

Smith also drew attention to Trump’s refusing a peaceful transition of power and his “motive, intent and plan to interfere with the implementation of an election result.” All this because he believes the election results are unsatisfactory.
Smith sees these all as evidence and urges other people to. He also highlighted Trump’s public criticism of other officials, including former Vice President Mike Pence. As far as he is concerned, the criticism could quickly morph into “threats, harassment, and violence.”
Trump’s lawyers want an “automatic stay” in the federal election subversion case. If they get it, there will be no trial until the Supreme Court decides whether to hear Trump’s appeal. The former president’s campaign’s response to Smith’s documents was tagging them as an act of desperation.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said: “Crooked Joe Biden, Deranged Jack Smith, and the rest of the Hacks and Thugs attempting to interfere in the 2024 election are getting so desperate to attack President Trump that they are perverting justice by trying to include claims that weren’t anywhere to be found in their dreamt up, fake indictment.”
Things are getting more interesting, and Smith is reportedly up to the task. It is not his first time investigating high-profile political figures.
Over the course of his career, he has done many things ranging from prosecuting a sitting US senator to charging gang members ultimately convicted of murdering New York City police officers.

He has also done multiple stints in the Justice Department and international courts. As things progress, the case continues to trigger reactions and court concerns.
Some of Trump’s supporters expressed worries about their data while documents relating to the search warrant for Trump’s Twitter account were released. The trial begins on March 4, 2024. Nobody knows how things will go, but there’s no doubt the proceedings will impact the political scene.
