With the goal of putting textured hair health first, registered nurse Monique Rodriguez founded the hair care line Mielle Organics in 2014. However, the company has come under fire for allegedly doing anything but that.

Recent weeks have seen allegations on social media that the brand’s products seriously damaged hair, resulting in extreme dryness, breakage, and even loss. In many cases, consumers report finding their hair in clumps after using the product for an extended period of time.

This includes Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil, the brand’s flagship product. The product also has a rather contentious past that looms over the company’s current dilemma.

Why Are People Canceling Mielle Organics?

Recently, an increasing number of women have come forward to share their personal stories about using Mielle Organics hair care products. These stories, which shared similar complaints of hair loss and damage, quickly went viral on social media platforms.

This sparked an online backlash as other users shared similar experiences in the comment section, further explaining how they thought they were going crazy when they noticed their hair coming out in clumps.

Some claimed that the negative results were just the result of user error, while others believed the company’s shift to mass production after partnering with Procter & Gamble caused these issues.

The ensuing internet discussion regarding Mielle Organics has given rise to several myths and assertions. One of the most persistent rumors is that Mielle Organics is being sued. Apart from an unreliable link shared on Reddit, the natural hair care company is not listed as the target of any pending lawsuit.

Is Mielle Organics Really Causing Severe Hair Loss?

Monique Rodriguez, the current CEO and founder of the company, maintains that the formulae have stayed constant and that the products undergo extensive testing to ensure their safety and effectiveness.

Since there have been no indications of sensitivity or irritation in third-party testing, independent specialists don’t think Mielle is the only cause of such severe and widespread hair loss.

Robert Finney, MD FAAD and board-certified dermatologist emphasizes, “No specific ingredient should cause clumps of hair to fall out,” so the oil and shampoo are not solely to blame.

“It’s unlikely they cause severe hair loss—it’s usually multifactorial,” adds hair expert and chemist Alexandra Arriaga. “Things like genetics, stress, and medical conditions can play a role, so evaluating all possibilities is essential before attributing them solely to the products.”

However, regarding ingredients, Mielle’s formulas contain certain essential oils and seed oils that can cause sensitivity, irritation, or even an abrupt inflammatory response in the scalp, which could result in breakage or hair loss.

“There are irritants like peppermint and nicotinate,” cosmetic chemist Ginger King explains. “If people have a sensitive scalp and keep scratching due to the intended sensations, that could be a reason for some hair loss. It’s not the products, but the sensitivity of individuals.”

Is Mielle Shampoo Good for Thin Hair?

Beyond its reasonable pricing, this moderately priced shampoo offers several shining features. It has been seen to produce longer and fuller hair growth, give strands a glossy finish and have frizz-controlling qualities that keep the hair looking polished after each application.

Customers were drawn to this product because of its remarkable de-frizzing qualities, which left their hair feeling silkier, smoother, and shinier than before.

How Long Does It Take for Mielle Rosemary Oil To Grow Hair?

If you’re looking for a quick fix for a bad haircut, we don’t think this Mielle rosemary mint scalp and hair strengthening oil product is for you; however, if you’re looking for something that will enhance the general appearance of your hair strands while calming and soothing your scalp, this oil could be a good option.

However, available research suggests that it may take up to six months of continuous treatment to gain impact. However, the routine of applying it, especially after a long day, served as a small self-care ritual.
