Following the rise in insecurity and attacks across the states of Nuevo Leon & Tamaulipas which have border proximity with some areas in the U.S.

According to news reports, the Mexican authorities have deployed over six hundred security personnel to these areas, which border Texas state in the U.S., as a response to the increase in attacks, which includes high kidnapping reports and intrusion on military property.

In a report, the international security expert told the outlet that the region was formerly dominated by the cartel drug group Zeta, known for its brutal and mischievous activities.

The expert added that the group stronghold might have dwindled due to serious and intentional government intervention, but some remains of the group, like the Northeast cartel and Zetas old school, are much more active, and the location might just be a battlefield for the two rivals.

There has been a rise in the crime rate in the neighborhood in recent weeks. A candidate for mayoral, Noe Ramos Ferretiz, contesting for a second term, was attacked and slain in Tamaulipas. The local news reported it was a knife attack.

In addition, there are reports of attacks amongst various factions, including an intrusion on a Mexican army station in the Tamaulipas town of Miguel Aleman. The Nuevo area has recorded a high level of kidnappings, to which some individuals have been retrieved, according to the report.

Michael Ballard, the V.P. of intelligence for Virginia-based Global Guardian, informed the Border Report that the Zetas gang is not a stronghold. However, according to Michael in his report, some of its group members are still up and running in the community close to the border.

Though they are not much of a threat, the two regions are the main passage for illegal hard drugs into the U.S. Probably one of the reasons why those border areas are highly dominated is the rate of illegal activities and crime.

Michael further added that although the number of crimes has drastically reduced compared to when the Zetas were much more active, make no mistake—it is still unsafe out there.

He said we would not encourage commuting on the Veracruz and Tamaulipas routes except if it is urgently needed and unavailable.

Andres Manuel, Pres. of Mexico, is often an advocate for the no bullets but hugs measure in handling the cartel group. He ignores face-off but offers solutions to solve the economic problems of illegal activities.

This approach often raises eyebrows. For instance, he recently pointed to the groups and factions as meaningful individuals who respect the citizens and only go after themselves.

This is a different narrative from the news report; Mexican citizens die in their thousands as a result of clashes between these factions and groups, which also sent people away from there for safety and protection, according to experts.

As part of what he called a Mexico First strategy, Andres Manuel declined to hunt the drug gangs on instructions from the U.SU.S.aying Mexico wouldn’t be pressured to act as police officers for the international government.
