Who Are Reese Witherspoon’s Kids?
Reese Witherspoon has three kids, Ava Phillippe, Deacon Phillippe and Tennessee James Toth.
While her two older kids, aged 23 and 19 respectively came from her first marriage to former husband Ryan Phillippe, the star shares her youngest son with her current husband Jim Toth.
Admittedly, balancing motherhood with her career has not been a smooth ride for Witherspoon. Yet, she managed to make it work by making sacrifices. Seeing how amazing her kids turned out to become, she knew those sacrifices were really worth it.
Meet Ava Elizabeth Phillippe
Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Elizabeth Philippe arrived on September 9, 1999. At the time, the actress was only 23 and married to Ryan.
Being a young mom, she found it daunting to balance everything around her, including being a mom, wife and career woman. While appearing in an episode of the “Drew Barrymore Show” Witherspoon reflected on the hardships she faced as a clueless young mom.
She admitted to being terrified after getting pregnant at 22. Additionally, she had no idea how to balance work and motherhood and took several missteps while trying to figure it out like most young moms.
Thankfully, things eventually fell in place, and she managed to raise her daughter into a beautiful, talented young woman. At 23, Ava is her mom’s carbon copy, with the two easily passing off as the same person in photos. Of their resemblance, Witherspoon once said:
“Well, I love being mistaken for her because it makes me feel so young. I’m so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I’m sure it’s not easy looking exactly like your mother.”
Additionally, the two women share the same fashion taste. The 23-year-old is pursuing a career in modeling while pursuing a college degree at UC Berkeley.
Deacon Reese Phillippe
Four years after her daughter’s arrival, Reese Witherspoon became a second-time mom, welcoming son Deacon Reese Phillippe with her first husband.
Deacon came into his parents’ lives on October 23, 2003, in Los Angeles. The now-19-year-old graduated from high school in the spring of 2022. To mark the milestone, his parents threw a backyard commencement ceremony in his honor.
The actress shared a photo of her teenage son donning his graduation gown, while showing off his certificate. She accompanied it with a heartwarming caption, capturing just how proud he made her.
Like his parent, Deacon hopes to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He release his first single “Long Run” in 2020, which he produced. During an interview, the young lad admitted his dad, who has roots in music, helped him ease into his budding musical career.
Additionally, he tried his hands at acting, starring in the Netflix teen series, “Never Have I Ever.”
Tennessee James Toth
After about a decade together, Witherspoon and Phillippe’s marriage ended in divorce in 2006. Years later, she geared off her romance with talent agent Jim Toth.
After barely a year of dating, Witherspoon and Toth tied the knot in 2011. The next year, they welcomed their only son together, Tennessee James Toth, born September 27, 2012.
So far, Witherspoon has strived to keep her youngest child out of the public eye. However, he appears on her social media pages on occasion, with most of their shots together flaunting the bond between mother and son, as well as the rest of the family.
