Among those identified was: Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis, 21, of Olathe, Kansas, a CH-53E helicopter crew chief; Sgt. Alec Langen, 23, of Chandler, Arizona, a CH-53E helicopter crew chief; Capt. Benjamin Moulton, 27, of Emmett, Idaho, a CH-53E helicopter pilot; Capt. Jack Casey, 26, of Dover, New Hampshire, a CH-53E helicopter pilot; and Capt. Miguel Nava, 28, of Traverse City, Michigan, is a CH-53E helicopter pilot.
Sgt. Alec Langen, 23, got married a couple of weeks before the tragedy occurred. His dad, a fellow marine, said that if possible, he would give anything to trade places with his son to have him back home. He also added that Alec died doing what he loved and wanted most.

Furthermore, Capt. Benjamin Moulton was described as a dedicated and skilled officer passionate about serving his country. Miguel Nava was also among those deceased in the tragic crash. Miguel was highly regarded for his professionalism and expertise, strong work ethic, and commitment to his fellow Marines.
