On Sunday, June 15, King Charles’ Father’s Day message for 2025 sparked speculations about reconciliation between him and Prince Harry. The 76-year-old British monarch shared a deeply touching message and personal tribute with throwback family photos to commemorate the special day.
In the message posted on the Royal Family’s Instagram account was a vintage black-and-white photo. It pictured little King Charles III and his sister, Princess Anne, happily playing on a wooden swing while their late father, Prince Philip, gently pushed them. The second image showed Queen Camilla with her father, the late Major Bruce Shand, on their wedding day.

People in the U.S. and the U.K. observe Father’s Day every year on the third Sunday in June. The photos posted by the Royal Family’s social media team were captioned with King Charles’ Father’s Day message. This message said, “To all Dads everywhere, we wish you a happy Father’s Day today.”
What the post didn’t include was any photo of King Charles with his two sons, Prince William, 42, and Prince Harry, 40. This tribute is coming just weeks after Prince Harry publicly expressed his desire for the end of their family dispute and reunion with his estranged father and his family.
On May 2, 2025, he told the BBC in an explosive interview, “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.” He further shared, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point. I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do. And I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show, you know, my children.”
Prince Harry also acknowledged that “some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book,” referring to his 2023 tell-all memoir Spare. “Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things.”
Is King Charles Trying To Reconcile With Prince Harry?
This year, Father’s Day coincides with the ongoing feud between King Charles and Prince Harry, which remains unresolved. And since King Charles’ Father’s Day message acknowledged dads around the world, there are speculations of reconciliation with Prince Harry.
However, this may not be the case, as the Duke and his wife, Meghan Markle, were not invited to the third Trooping the Colour of the King’s reign the day before, on Saturday, June 14. It was a parade organized for King Charles’ official birthday, and Prince William, his wife Kate, and their three kids were in attendance.
Five years ago, in 2020, when the family feud first became public, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal roles and relocated to the U.S. They moved with their son, Prince Archie, now 6, while their daughter, Princess Lilibet, now 4, was born in 2021, a year later. They currently live in a $14 million mansion in Montecito, California.
Their decision to relocate caused a strain in the family bond, and they lost their automatic state-funded U.K. security. Though Prince Harry has appealed to have the protection restored, it has, however, been dismissed by the judge.
Harry has since revealed in a recent BBC interview that he’d love to reconcile, but that King Charles “wouldn’t speak” to him.
“Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has,” he said, referring to King Charles battling cancer, a diagnosis that was announced in 2024.
“(He) won’t speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile,” he admitted.

The displeasure stems from Harry marrying his wife, whom they believe has a negative influence on him. Plus, he ditched his royal duties for a life in the U.S. and wrote a book discussing all the Royal Family drama.
Another social media user said, “Prince Harry needs to stop talking to the media. This is why his family doesn’t trust him with confidential matters. Maybe stop talking and try and reach out to a family member.”
In the book, Harry uncovered an alleged brawl with his brother, William, because of his relationship with his wife, Meghan Markle. The book also revealed how King Charles allegedly joked that his “actual father was one of his mother’s (Princess Diana) former lovers.”
“Harry has always said he wanted a father and brother, NOT an organization. Unfortunately, the King and heir see Harry as an employee of the firm, not a family member,” said another netizen. Nonetheless, as the family feud continues to unfold, there is still hope for reconciliation.
