The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, resumed her official royal duties following the coronavirus pandemic-imposed lockdown. She stunned in a blue dress as she welcomed her first audience to Buckingham Palace since the lockdown.
It’s business as usual for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who took a brief break from some public duties since the coronavirus outbreak.
The couple entertained their first post-lockdown guests last week in style. Kate Middleton and Prince Harry did the honors of welcoming the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and his wife, Olena Zelenska, to Buckingham Palace.
For the occasion, the Duchess donned a cornflower blue belted gown, which left her looking elegant. She accentuated her charming ensemble with a pair of nude heels. Meanwhile, Williams kept it classy in his customary black suit and tie.
Pictures from the engagement flooded the media, with many admirers applauding Middleton’s choice of clothing. A post shared on the Cambridges twitter account showed the royalties and their guests seated in the Throne room while engrossed in a discussion. The accompanying caption read:
“Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge held an audience with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine and first lady Olena Zelenska, at Buckingham Palace.”
The four dignitaries sat down to a discussion about pressing issues. Middleton and Prince Williams hosted the Ukrainian elites in the Throne Room on behalf of the monarch.
While neither of the four participants wore a nose mask or other protective gear against the coronavirus, they observed the social distancing.
They exchanged pleasantries without shaking hands. Also, they conducted their meeting while seated on separate ornate sofas positioned a safe distance apart.
The royal affair was part of President Zelenskyy’s two-day visit to London for an official assignment.
Middleton and her husband, as well as the Ukraine first couple, all appeared in high spirits throughout their conversation. That, and the unmistaken glow on the Duchess’s face, highlighted by her adorable dress, indicated the meeting ended on a good note.
This is not the first time Kate Middleton would steal the spotlights at an official engagement with her dressing choices.
Since becoming a public figure thanks to her marriage to Williams, the 38-year-old has proven herself a fashion genius.
During her visit to “The One Show,” in 2018 to promote her cyberbullying campaign, the Duchess wore a similar dress. Her earlier version, however, designed by Emilia Wickstead, came without the belts. Additionally, she completed the look with a pair of black heels.
Middleton’s taste in clothing has become legendary, so much so that many look up to her as a fashion icon.
