How Old Was Kai Musk When His Parents Split?
Kai Musk is a triplet. He and his brothers Saxon and Damian were born via IVF on January 1, 2006. His parents, Elon and Justine, got married in January 2000. They became parents to their first child Nevada Alexander Musk in 2002.
Unfortunately, Nevada passed away when she was just ten weeks old due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Nevada’s demise greatly affected the relationship between Kai’s parents. It was also the same week that Elon sold PayPal to eBay, growing his net worth to over $100 million.
Elon and Justine did not break up immediately and remained legally married until 2008. Kai had been a boy of two. After their divorce, Elon and Justine received equal legal and physical custody of their kids.
The Billionaire has been candid about his love for kids in the past, and it was proven after his divorce from Justine. After the divorce, Elon took over care of Kai and his siblings. He also takes care of Kai’s mother financially.
Why Does Elon Musk Have So Many Kids?
Elon Musk is one of the few people on Earth who believe the planet is grossly underpopulated. As such, he has taken it upon himself to do his part in growing Earth’s population one child at a time.
Aside from Kai, who had four brothers as a kid, Elon has added more numbers to his brood from his other relationships. He is now on his tenth child. Elon, known for how much he says he loves the world, shared a tweet in 2022 that seemingly explains why his brood keeps growing.
He tweeted: “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birthday is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.” Kai’s father has revealed that his friends have urged him to have as many as 500 kids.
He doesn’t buy the idea. However, Elon has said he might have more kids, but not so much that it will become difficult to be a good father to all of them.
How Many Siblings Does Kai Musk Have?
Kai has eight other siblings. It should have been nine siblings. However, they lost Nevada, Elon’s first child, to SIDs.
Griffin and Vivian Musk
After they lost Nevada, Elon, and Justine used IVF to continue welcoming kids. She had their twins, Griffin and Vivian Musk, in April 2004. Vivian has now come out as transgender. It became news in June 2022 when she filed a legal request to change her first name to her mom’s last name.
Saxon and Damian Musk
These are the two other boys that were born alongside Kai in 2006. Just two years before Elon and Justine officially got divorced.
X AE A-XII Musk
Elon welcomed his son, X AE A-XII Musk, in 2020. He shares him with his former girlfriend, singer Grimes. The pair started dating in May 2018, and she welcomed their son in May 2020.
The boy was initially named X Æ A-12, but “Æ” and “12” violated California law as they are not part of the English alphabet. This forced Elon and Grimes to change the name. The couple broke up in September 2021.
Exa Dark Sideræl Musk
Elon and Grimes welcomed their first daughter Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, via surrogate in December 2021. However, they kept it under wraps until March 2022, when Grimes shared the news.
Exa has been given the nickname “Y” after their other kid was nicknamed X. Grimes revealed in March 2023 that Exa goes by “Y now, “Why?” or simply “?.” However, she also said that the government has refused to recognize the symbol.
Twins With Shivon Zilis
Kai Musk’s siblings increased in 2021 when his father welcomed twins with Neuralink director of operations and special projects Shivon Zilis. Their names are unknown, but Elon and Zilis filed a petition to change their names to “have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.”
The request was approved by a judge in Austin, Texas, in May 2022. The twins make Elon’s kids nine, just three behind Nick Cannon, who has had 12 kids with six women. They are both doing their best to curb underpopulation, and perhaps the benefits of their actions now will only be recognized years later.
