She said, “We dropped him off at school and hugged him — it was brutally painful. And I said, ‘I did not realize that 18 years would go so fast.’ And he didn’t say anything. He was hugging me. But he turned away, and I said, ‘Wait, Joaquin, one more!’ And he kept walking, and I knew it was also happening to him — the emotion.”

Joaquin is now thriving in college. He has joined his school’s wrestling team, and his parents often visit Michigan to watch him compete.
The pair are hands-on parents who are not shy to showcase their love for their kids on social media. Their respective Instagram accounts are inundated with photos of them supporting Joaquin and wearing University of Michigan merch.
The youngster is grateful for their support during his wrestling matches but is not afraid to tell Ripa and Consuelos when they have gone too far.
In 2022, Ripa recalled: “We came to see one of our son’s sporting events at the University of Michigan, and all we did was walk up to him. We’re like, ‘Oh, we’ll meet you at your dorm.’ And he’s like, ‘You cannot meet me at my dorm, and you cannot be out front. And put your masks on your face. And nobody can know we’re together.'”

Ripa’s third son has two older siblings. The eldest of them is his brother, Michael Joseph Consuelos, who was born on June 2, 1997, while the second eldest is his sister, Lola Grace, who was born on June 16, 2001.
