McNearney pointed out how they worked together for eight years before a romantic relationship bloomed between them, and their working relationship did not change after they started dating.

McNearney, the executive producer and co-head writer on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” said, “We know how to compartmentalize. It definitely can be difficult when I pitch ideas to get rejected by my husband, but it’s okay. I’ve got thick skin.”
“I get rejected plenty, believe me,” Kimmel, 57, chipped in too. “We’re doing great. We’re doing really great,” McNearney, 46, added.
Kimmel and McNearney have been married for more than a decade now. They do a lot of brainstorming at the office, which doesn’t stop when they clock out. However, this does not affect their marriage and even seems to help it. While at home, the ideas continue to flow, and it is just business as usual.
When asked if they have a strict cut-off rule for work-related talk, Kimmel, who has been sued many times because of his work, said, “No. Never. Not even sleep.”
“It never stops. No, no, never,” McNearney confirmed. “He’ll wake up in the middle of the night, ‘Oh, let’s write this down.’ Or in the car, he’ll say, ‘Get your phone and write this down,’ because he’s usually the one driving, and no, the brain is always working.”

“We don’t like to go out,” Kimmel revealed. McNearney replied, “So hot. That is a nice night for us. To not do anything is the best kind of date for us. Postmates and Netflix, and it’s perfect. Or Hulu, of course.”

“The executive producer brought me into his office and said, ‘This is Molly; she’s my new assistant.’ Jimmy barely looked up from his desk until my EP said, ‘She competes in triathlons,’ and then Jimmy looked up at me and said, ‘That is really stupid! What a waste of time,’ she laughed. “That was the first and only thing he probably said to me the entire first year of working there.”

Jimmy Kimmel proposed to Molly McNearney at Kruger National Park in South Africa during a romantic getaway. One year later, on July 13, the couple officially tied the knot in Ojai, California. The gathering was star-studded, with celebs like Jennifer Aniston, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, and Ben Affleck on the guest list.
Kimmel and McNearney have two children: daughter Jane, 10, and son Billy, 7. Kimmel is also the father of two adult children: daughter Katie, who is 33, and son Kevin, who is 31, whom he shares with his first wife, Gina Maddy.
