Days after Brooklyn Beckham made a weird post on Instagram stating that he’d “always choose” his wife, it’s been rumored that there’s some tension growing in the Beckham family. Sources claim that the family drama only surfaced recently, but the feud dates back to 2022 after Victoria Beckham’s surprise action at her son Brooklyn’s lavish wedding.
According to reports, Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were upset after Victoria allegedly hijacked a dance and stole the spotlight at their wedding. The source said Victoria’s actions left Nicola “crying” and the guests “in absolute shock” that day.
Since the incident, it appears that the tension between the couple and the Beckham family has intensified. The couple were notably absent from David Beckham’s early 50th birthday celebration in March, held at the Michelin-starred Core restaurant in London, despite being invited.

Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham have been together since late 2019 and got engaged the following summer. The couple tied the knot with 600 guests in attendance at her family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida. It was a black-tie affair, with guests like Serena and Venus Williams, Gordon Ramsay, and Eva Longoria.
Also in attendance was Grammy-winning singer Marc Anthony, who took to the stage to perform at the reception. Marc Anthony, a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding.
An insider source told PEOPLE Magazine, “Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up — Victoria Beckham!'”
Another insider added that the entire room was so shocked that Anthony called Victoria’s name over the bride’s, Nicola. “It was such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock; you could hear a pin drop,” they said.
The guests were even more surprised when Victoria started slow dancing with Brooklyn. The insider alleged that some guests at the wedding didn’t find Victoria Beckham’s surprise action appropriate, including the bride, because moments later, everyone saw “Nicola run from the room crying.”
The insider claimed that Nicola “felt that Victoria ruined her wedding on purpose, and she couldn’t understand why.”

As reported by the Daily Mail in 2022, Victoria, 51, had made the request to Marc Anthony before the awkward moment. “Without any warning and at the request of Victoria, Marc switched it to a mother-son dance using the same song.”
The wedding guests could tell something was “off.” “It was uncomfortable for the couple who were thinking it was to be a special moment for them,” added an insider. This made Nicola Peltz very upset at her wedding. It’s also reported that they’ve tried to settle things, but it hasn’t been smooth.
How Did Brooklyn Beckham React to the Wedding Incident?
After the wedding incident, Brooklyn has been avoiding family gatherings. Besides missing his dad’s 50th birthday celebration earlier this year, he has also missed several other birthday events.
He even declined a personal invitation from his father, David Beckham, to join the boys for a fishing trip that had been planned six months earlier with his brothers. Even though he’d arrive in the UK in time, he still didn’t go.
According to a source, “Brooklyn feels torn. It’s his family and blood, but he’s always had a complicated relationship with his dad. A lot of their relationship has felt like ‘business’.”
Another insider close to Brooklyn and Nicola claimed that actress Nicola has been growing increasingly frustrated with her parents-in-law, too. The source stated that David “verbally berates” Brooklyn over the phone, and that Nicola finds his parents to be “toxic.”
Additionally, Nicola “talks back to them and stands up for” her husband, which has further strained their relationship. David and Victoria have allegedly refused to “discuss all of the ongoing drama” with Nicola around.

There are doubts about reconciliation in the family since Victoria Beckham’s surprise action. “They’ve tried to make peace, but every time they finally have a happy moment, it all falls apart again,” a source said.
US Weekly reported that Brooklyn’s parents are “over” the drama and that they have “thrown in the towel.” Another insider told PEOPLE in early May that “the relationship is definitely not beyond repair.” “They love and are always there for Brooklyn. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”
