Holden Fletcher Fraser is Brendan Fraser’s second child and son. He is a product of the Canadian-American actor’s former marriage to Afton Smith.
Some months ago, Holden and his brothers turned many heads when they accompanied their father to the Oscars award ceremony. The boys looked handsome, showing off their inherited good looks, making many realize they were Hollywood material.
Does their appearance at the event hint at a possible career in showbiz later on? Time will tell. In the meantime, here’s all you need to know about Holden Fletcher Fraser, his brothers, and his lifestyle.
How Old Is Holden Fraser?
Holden Fletcher Fraser is currently 19 years old. Brendan Fraser and Afton Smith welcomed him on August 16, 2004. That makes him the grandson of Peter Fraser and Carol Fraser and the great-grandson of Catherine Mary Genereux and Arthur George Genereux.
He is also of mixed ethnicity, with his father being Irish, Scottish, German, Czech, and French-Canadian, while his mother is of Caucasian descent. When the couple welcomed him, Brendan Fraser was already a well-known actor who had already achieved fame.
However, the “The Whale” star and his then-wife chose to keep Holden’s life as private as possible. As such, he grew up shielded from social media drama and the likes. He claims he just joined social media, with his first Instagram post shared in February 2023.
At this time, Holden has only published about six photos and already has over 9,000 followers.
Holden Fletcher Fraser Career
Just a boy of 19, Holden Fletcher Fraser is only just getting ready to embark on a career, and from the looks of things, he may be eyeing entertainment like his parents.
In the meantime, he appears to be trying out modeling. His Instagram profile describes him as a model repped by Marilyn Agency NY, and the posts he has shared up till now prove that he is already hard at work as one.
Besides modeling, Holden is also a college student. Reports claim he is a student of N.Y.C., but the course he is enrolled to study has not been revealed to the public. Some speculate his learning is related to acting or filming, as his dad got invited to their filming class for a live question and answer.
Brendan said: “I’m thrilled that I was able to go into my 18-year-old’s film studies class just before it came out and give a sort of Q & A. They’d all gone out to see ‘The Whale,’ and they’re whipsmart kids. They understand the craft of filmmaking in a way that’s so impressive.”
Holden has also been known to attend some functions reserved for those who enjoy the performing arts. For example, he joined his dad and brother for the New York screening of “The Whale,” he was also at the Oscars to witness his father being celebrated for his first academic award.
Holden Fletcher Fraser and His Siblings
Including Holden, Brendan Fraser shares two other kids with his former wife, Afton Smith. The first is Holden’s older brother, Griffin Arthur Fraser, born September 17, 2002.
Griffin is rarely seen in public or on the internet because he is on the autism spectrum and requires special care. Brendan opened up about the subject in his interview with GQ in 2018.
He said: “He needs extra love in the world, and he gets it.”
Holden’s second sibling is his younger brother, Leland Francis Fraser. He was born on May 2, 2006, and according to his father, is “a professional fire plug.”
The proud dad said: “He goes through brushes and briers and comes out on the other side scratched and smiling. It’s all good!”
All three siblings get along well, but Holden and Griffin have a special bond. Their father once stated: “Ever since they were small, one was always the spokesperson, and the other was the enforcer.”
Holden Fletcher Fraser’s Parents
Brendan Fraser met the woman who gave him Holden and his brothers through their mutual friend, actress Winona Ryder. Their first meeting happened at the party Ryder put together at her house on July 4, 1993.
The first time, the pair felt an instantaneous connection and quickly fell head over heels for each other. They dated for some years before tying the knot on September 27, 1998.
The former couple were married for almost a decade before Brendan filed for divorce from Smith in 2007. It was finalized with him mandated by a court to pay $50k in alimony monthly every year for ten years or until Smith remarried.
The reason for their divorce is still unclear, but the pair have moved on and have been co-parenting their boys well.
