Nothing beats being able to effortlessly style and slay in any outfit. One perfect example of “effortlessly slayed” was when Angel Reese swapped her sneakers for stilettos on her 22nd birthday. Swapping sneakers was not the only highlight, though. She also celebrated her birthday in style at the last Met Gala.

Reese made a stunning debut at the prestigious event held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan. She wowed the crowd in a seafoam green mini dress with feather accents, designed by 16Arlington’s Marco Capaido. Fans could not get enough of the striking 6’3 athlete, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

According to Reese, she was thrilled to see everyone’s outfits and noted that spending her 22nd birthday at the Met Gala was a dream come true.

Before Angel Reese entered the event, she was busy practicing with her new Chicago Sky teammates, who celebrated her birthday in another grand style. Her teammates serenaded her with a rendition of “Happy Birthday” before she headed to New York City. Just so you know, this is not Reese’s first time commanding attention on a red carpet.

In fact, she previously turned heads at the 2024 WNBA Draft in a stunning Amalia gown. In addition to her glamorous look, she wore a white gold diamond bar grill with VVS diamonds. May has been an eventful month for Reese, who was selected 7th overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

That is not all! This same month, she relocated from Baton Rogue to Chicago, got a new Mercedes truck, and secured a multi-year endorsement deal with Panini America. Additionally, in her WNBA exhibition debut, she scored 13 points.

In addition to Reese, other athletes were present at the Met. We saw Stefon Diggs, recently traded to the Houston Texans, Lewis Hamilton, Odell Beckham Jr., and Serena Williams.

Despite Reese’s achievements, she has faced numerous attacks over the past year. Reese and LSU fell 94-87 to a Caitlin Clark-led Iowa team in the Elite Eight, a highly anticipated rematch of last season’s championship game.

In what could be her final college game, Reese tearfully opened up about her struggles since winning the 2023 NCAA title. She noted that she has endured and seen so much, including attacks, death threats, sexual harassment, and threats.

However, she believes she will overcome the phase. For context, during the previous championship game, then-21-year-old Reese made headlines with a “you can’t see me” gesture towards Clark, mimicking WWE star John Cena. She did this before pointing her finger in anticipation of her championship ring.

That moment was one of the most discussed highlights of history’s most-watched women’s college basketball game. This added to the intense rivalry between the two players, which led to the recent rematch.

Reese acknowledged being cast in the “villain role” against Clark, though she emphasized that they don’t harbor any animosity and are simply highly competitive on the court. After a game, the two players exchanged words of respect, encouraging each other to continue being great athletes.

Clark, an all-time leading scorer in Division I basketball for both women and men, delivered a top-tier performance in the game. She scored 41 points, seven rebounds, and 12 assists, shooting 9-of-20 from three-point range.

On the other hand, Reese also had 17 points and 20 rebounds, marking her 10th consecutive double-double in the NCAA tournament. In the post-game press conference, Reese reflected on her challenging year.

Here, she disclosed how she does not always stand her ground. Thankfully, her amazing teammates, great support system, and family always support her. So, Reese remains unapologetic and vows to always leave her mark.
