Make way for Moana! The Polynesian princess used limited materials she could source from her own island. According to visual development artist Neysa Bové, “We had a specific rule: ‘If you can find it on the island, you can make it.”

And that makes each look’s intricate beading and fabric dyeing all the more special. Everything from her beach waves to the color coordination makes this the perfect outfit for a seabound adventure.

Ok, Elsa is technically a queen, but this is entirely on the nose for an ice queen. The detailed work is impressive, and props to Elsa for making it herself. She beats out her sister Anna for best wardrobe.

Before she “lets it go,” Elsa hides more than her icy powers. It’s not until her iconic power ballad that we see her shimmering ice-blue dress. It’s a bit of Dancing With the Stars but in the best way possible.

Mulan’s layering game is on point! Her wardrobe is the most practical of the bunch. Most Disney princesses wear tight-fitting dresses with corsets and glass shoes. However, seeing a Disney princess in some comfy, loose-fitting getups is always refreshing.

Also, Mulan is very on-trend right now with the whole menswear-inspired look. She’s way ahead of her time as menswear-inspired styles now dominate the runways during Fashion Week.

Jasmine is the trendiest Disney princess, with her closet full of crop tops and harem pants. Her stylist was working overtime on this one. And like a true trendsetter, Jasmine knows that if you find something that works, buy it in multiple colors.

However, red is definitely her color. She also gets bonus points for having the best jewelry collection. Throughout the 90-minute movie, she rocks many statement necklaces, oversized earrings, bejeweled hairbands, and golden arm cuffs.

Belle is definitely the most couture of all the Disney princesses. She wants more than this provincial life, and her iconic golden ball gown with layers of tulle looks straight off the runway. She also scores points for having the best outerwear of all the princesses.

Belle might spend most of the movie in blue, but burgundy is definitely her color. That burgundy fur-lined cape she wears while feeding birds with the Beast during the “Something There” montage is fabulous. And the way that white fur collar frames her face? Stunning! A French runway classic!

Tiana makes this list for having a wardrobe straight out of the Jazz Age era. Green is a tricky color, especially in formalwear, but Tiana makes (neon) green look good.

We would spend hours sifting through vintage shops to find outfits like these. Her drop-waist dresses and flapper ensembles are tough to pull off, but she does it effortlessly.

Cinderella’s pink dress is a little cringey. But it’s no surprise since birds and mice made it. On the other hand, her powder blue fairy godmother’s creation is breathtaking.

The magical evening dress is one of the most iconic dresses in the history of Disney princesses. The outfit is flawless. Also, it is iconic enough to inspire a Met Gala imitation several years later.

Ariel has the best sartorial sense out of all her fellow Disney princesses. Give her a rope and a ratty old piece of fabric washed up on shore, and she’ll turn it into a fashion piece. Her wardrobe is on point!

However, her collar has always confused me. What’s the thought process behind the collar design? No disrespect to Ms. White, but it does give off radio satellite vibes.

While most Disney princesses have multiple wardrobe changes, poor Pocahontas only got to wear one outfit the entire movie. The one-shoulder silhouette and suede are lovely. Also, a major shout-out to her statement necklace.

However, critics argue that her tailored, curve-hugging mini dress is historically inaccurate. Regardless, this Disney princess looks good.
