Media propaganda is an essential tool in controlling how people think, and that is especially true in times of election. The media have never been a fan of Trump, and every chance they get to knock him down a peg, they have taken it. 

After Donald Trump was convicted of a felony—found guilty in a New York court of falsifying business records—many sympathized with him. It made him seem vulnerable and seemed to highlight the Department of Justice’s bias. It was a mistake, one the Democrats now seem hellbent on correcting, even if it means throwing Biden’s son under the bus. 

Joe Biden’s son Hunter was also convicted under the same justice system rules that found Trump guilty. This has led some media outlets to make assertions that imply that any claims of unfair persecution from Trump are no longer valid. NBC political analyst Chuck Todd called the conviction a “big blow” against Trump that renders his attempt to weaponize his own conviction useless. 

According to Todd, there could be a real political fallout for Trump’s team following the conviction of Biden’s son. The analyst claims it will be harder for Trump to claim he was a victim of bias when another similar conviction exists on the opposite political side.

In his political career, Trump has garnered many enemies, and Todd is one of them. He has been very vocal about his disapproval of the former president and is one of those who think he should never get a chance to rerun. 

Following Hunter Biden’s conviction, CNN published a story by Stephen Collinson on Wednesday with the headline “Hunter Biden conviction shatters Trump’s persecution narrative.”

It sheds more light on how the recent verdict proves that Trump’s claim of the Justice Department being biased and out to get him is untrue. 

The CNN piece contains a quote from Michael Zeldin, a former senior Justice Department official and federal prosecutor. He reaffirms what Todd said—that the Hunter Biden conviction is proof that the Justice Department is not picking sides. 

According to Collinson, who wrote the CNN piece, the conviction of the sitting president’s son also means Trump’s go-to legal defense in his four criminal cases is no longer valid. The former president has always painted himself as a victim of a weaponized legal system, but that may no longer be possible.

Donald Trump seems to honestly believe that he has been a target of media propaganda, slander, and a lot more, thanks to his political enemies. Not one to forgive and forget, Trump has expressed a desire for revenge, but only after winning the election. According to him, the revenge would be “justified” given all he has been put through.

As far as Trump is concerned, the hush money trial against him is nothing but a modern “witch hunt” that is being done with help from Washington. According to a statement his campaign made to CNN, the trial is an effort to divert attention from the grievous crimes of the Biden Family, which has made millions from selling government access. 

Whether Hunter Biden was indeed a sacrifice to discredit Trump’s claims of a biased Justice Department or not, it is a big blow to his campaign. Those in support of the Republican, like Vivek Ramaswamy, are now trying to get in front of the narrative with claims that imply the Hunter Biden conviction is just a sham to legitimize Trump’s. “Don’t fall for it,” said Ramaswamy in a post he shared via X, formerly Twitter. 

Many critics of Biden have echoed Ramaswamy’s sentiments. They believe that it is a diversion that, if it succeeds, could mask Biden’s real misdeeds while making it seem like the Justice Department is truly unbiased. 

It looks like what the conservatives will now base their arguments on is the fakeness of the Hunter Biden trial. Some have tagged it as political theatrics created to form an illusion of a “balanced” Justice system and are imploring people not to fall for it.
