According to the FSA, older people, and pregnant women should be extra cautious about the bacterium as they are more vulnerable. Symptoms it causes include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick, and diarrhea.

Brands that fall under this category include Bread Spread, Orbital Foods, and Perfect Bite. Products from these three brands were found to have been contaminated by the innocent-looking Listeria. The affected items, which range from sandwiches to French sticks, had use-by dates from May 10 to May 18, 2024, and they can most commonly appear in independent convenience stores, posing serious health risks to those who buy and ingest them.

This Listeria contamination is the latest in a series of recalls, and what is most shocking is that different agencies discovered these things during secondary testing. Before the listeria contamination, the US Food and Safety Inspection Service found that E. coli had contaminated about 16,243 pounds of ground beef.
