The Governor of Florida has publicly announced the rejection of Joe Biden’s attempts to rewrite Title IX. The governor speaks on behalf of the state of Florida. 

Title IX is a federal law that kicks against gender discrimination and identity in the U.S. educational system. The governor blatantly pledges to defy the Biden administration’s Title IX rules. 

Title IX is a federal law enacted in the United States educational system, protecting every citizen’s rights regardless of gender. It ensures equality for both males and females in academic programs. 

Title IX enables every person in the United States to benefit from educational programs. It states that, in terms of education, no one, regardless of your gender, will be denied from receiving federal financial assistance. 

The reason for the establishment of Title IX lies in the struggles to combat any form of gender discrimination and gender inequality and to provide equal rights for every male and female citizen of the US in educational institutions. 

Title IX federal law was established in 1972. During its several years of existence, it has been amended by different presidents of the United States.

Like some past presidents of the United States who have amended the rules surrounding Title IX, President Biden has also made some minor changes. 

Recently, Biden announced an update on Title IX that involves the inclusion of LGBQ as beneficiaries of the government’s educational program. This new update will seek to protect LGBTQ members against discrimination and allow them to seek financial help from both their schools and the federal government. 

Despite the legalization of LGBTQ in the United States in 2015, it seems some individuals still have a thing against the community. The governor of Florida has in the past faced criticism from LGBTQ advocates for a state law that has hurt the community. 

In Florida, a law that stated “Don’t Say Gay” in public schools restricted the discussion of LGBTQ topics in schools. This criticism expressed concern over the lack of freedom of expression and the public debate on identities in the educational system. 

Over the years, the issue of LGBTQ has gained worldwide attention, and it was officially legalized by the Supreme Court in 2015. In our society today, it’s difficult to ignore their existence. Hence, to enable inclusiveness for all, regardless of sexuality, the updated rules of Title IX were prompted. 

According to the Education secretary, Miguel Cardona explained that no one deserves to be bullied or discriminated against because of their sexuality.

Cardona further details the updated Title IX. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of embracing differences. He stated that regardless of their beliefs, everyone deserves to be celebrated and respected. 

He said that the nation’s educational system should be a place that accepts and celebrates differences. Cardona opposed hatred and encouraged inclusion in all aspects of academic programs.

The major opposition party in the United States, the Republican Party, has expressed dissatisfaction over the updated Title IX. Many party leaders have argued that the updated rules deviate from their originality. 

This has caused reactions and debates from different political leaders in the country. Some supported the updated rules, while some argued it should be reversed. 

The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has stated his stance on all of these. In a recent video, speaking on behalf of Florida state, the governor simply stated, “We will not comply.”

Some other states in the country also resist. Their refusal is firmly stated, reflecting a broader sentiment against it. 

To further express his strong stance against the updated Title IX, the governor of Florida said Joe Biden might have taken a different strategy as regards the issue of transgender in sports. 

But he blatantly opposes this new Title IX policy, which supports the inclusiveness of transgender in the educational system. The governor says that Florida will not let Joe Biden allow men to participate in women’s activities. 

The governor didn’t stop there. He further stated that he would not let President Joe Biden undermine the rights of parents and would do anything to ensure the protection of parental rights. 

The governor seems to have raised this point in support of many individuals who are afraid of potential federal interference in family matters.

DeSantis continued to elaborate on his stance against the updated Title IX. He accused the president of abuse of Constitutional authority by trying to impose unwanted policies on Florida. 

“We are not going to let Joe Biden abuse his constitutional authority to try and impose these policies on us here in Florida,” DeSantis said. 

The governor of Florida sees himself as a defender of traditional opportunities. He said he would not support any changes that try to undermine them. 

His stance addresses the concerns of those worried about the possible negative impact of the recently updated Title IX. He promises to protect the existing opportunities and ensure no one compromises them.
