Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s support of homeschooling has left many public schools struggling. Most of them nearly died from the storm.

At the Florida Homeschool Convention, the governor did not hesitate to discuss his administration’s records regarding school choices. 

DeSantis told the assembly there is an urgent call for reform of the current system across the nation. He has adopted several large-scale changes in measures and policies aimed at providing the foundation for homeschooling and parents’ interest.

The pressure created by homeschooling can be felt, putting Florida’s public schools at a disadvantage. He is for homeschooling, but this is counterproductive to the existing system, which is detrimental to both the teachers and the children. 

There are no more choices than private education, and few students opt for public schools. This downturn has threatened the future of public education in Florida as more classrooms go unmanned and school budgets decline further.

An advantage that came with the idea of homeschooling is the change in teaching standards. Many years have been dedicated to DeSantis and Florida Republicans giving school choice for the state. 

Many children have been pulled out of public schools and placed in private schools or homeschooled since they are very effective. Currently, some of the school districts in Florida are observing a sharp decrease in the number of students for the program after the expansion.

While it is also a constitutional imperative, it is in the best interest of Florida students to be educated to the highest standards. However, there is a severe shortage of teachers and bus drivers in the school districts in Florida, among many other running costs above the revenue.

The decline in enrollment in public schools is increasingly impacting individual students. In most cases, students who wish to be homeschooled do so because they struggle with the conventional classroom setting or require additional support.

Nonetheless, these learners can miss important development opportunities and interactions if they do not attend public schools, which provide order and social interaction.

The negative impacts of homeschooling may lead to an inferiority complex and social rejection, as children may lack the company of their peers.

Homeschoolers may have problems establishing friendly relationships with their peers and may miss great opportunities for individual growth.

First, we must commit to public education and strive to create an environment of support for each child, regardless of their choice to homeschool or attend a traditional school.

For every kid to work and create a better future, every student should be able to get the education that they deserve.

According to reports, the population of pupils in Florida public schools has gradually dropped. It had increased by 5% when DeSantis took the administration. This decline rate is above the national average by a huge margin.

It is also ascertained that 12% more pupils opt for homeschooling than before. Homeschooling is turning out to be a great option for Florida, which has several problems handling a large number of students.

The basic education model supported in Florida state is under tremendous pressure because of the shrinking enrollment in public schools. Schools are now experiencing mass staff layoffs while trying to provide more beds for students.

This simply implies that resources are less available, and there is an increase in the number of students in a class. As a result, many students are denied the satisfaction of their needs, and the quality of education is compromised.

The loss of students in public schools negates the prospects of diversification and undermines public confidence.

At the same time, once vivid districts of the educational process are gradually turning into districts without obvious purpose. These effects are, therefore, likely to shut down and ring the bells of a generational disaster.

Another significant concern about homeschooling is the lack of accountability. Therefore, it is only reasonable to conclude that no one can guarantee that pupils are being taught to the best of their capabilities without such tests and assessments.

Some children may not be receiving proper education because their family chooses to homeschool. This raises issues of justice and fairness. It is also hard to monitor their progress when one is teaching them for one or more of the following reasons.

Governor DeSantis’s push for homeschooling has created a disaster in Florida’s public learning institutions. The reduction of enrollment in public schools will have detrimental impacts on many generations.

If people can consider homeschooling as an operational solution, we must be prepared for the unexpected consequences of this trend and reflect on the future implications of this movement.

First, we must commit to public education and strive to create an environment of support for children, regardless of their choice to homeschool or attend a traditional school.

For every kid to work and create a better future, every student should be able to get the education that they deserve.
