A former member of Pig Destroyer has reportedly died at the age of 48. Although he was primarily famous for his work with the American grindcore band, Blake Harrison has worked with several bands. He joined Pig Destroyer from 2006 to 2022. However, before that, Harrison made contributions to other renowned bands.
These include Tentacles of God, Triac, Zealot R.I.P., Daybreak, and Hatebeak. Since his passing became public, fans and industry peers have penned tributes to recognize the musician’s legacy. Decibel Magazine confirmed his tragic death with an Instagram post.
According to reports, Blake Harrison contributed to the publication’s “For Those About to Squawk” column. Following the magazine’s announcement, the metal community was shocked. The iconic artist’s pals and industry peers immediately started penning tributes in his memory.
“It’s with heavy hearts we have to say goodbye to our friend Blake Harrison today,” Metal band Noisem wrote. “He was a fixture in the scene when we cut our teeth as a young band in Baltimore.”

“Blake was always great fun to hang and chat with,” they added. “If it weren’t for the chance encounter meeting him, we wouldn’t be where we are as a band.” Furthermore, the band noted that Harrison’s enthusiasm and belief in them helped them early in their career.
“If it wasn’t for his enthusiasm and belief in us as a band,” they wrote. “We would have never put out our first record on a label or done any of the crazy shit that’s followed.” In addition, the band said Blake Harrison and the Pig Destroyer took them under their wing, giving them a massive push when needed.

“We can’t thank Blake enough for being the kind, funny, and generous guy he was over the years,” they wrote. “And we will miss him dearly.” Similarly, Darkest Hour’s Mike Schleibaum penned a sweet tribute to the late singer on his Instagram.
“Blake Harrison, I’ll miss you so much; my heart and soul are in shock,” Schleibaum wrote. “So much love for Lindsey Turnbullet, just frozen in disbelief; his spirit will ride with us, no doubt.” He concluded, “I Will take time to process this.”

In addition to his industry peers and former bandmates, fans of the iconic singer took to social media. They paid tribute to him on his socials with heartfelt messages about his tragic death. One fan wrote, “A great human being and brilliant musician. He lives forever in love and respect.”
“D— this sucks,” another fan commented. “I got to meet him on a little tour my friend’s band was doing with Triac and Pig Destroyer.” The user added, “He was super cool.” Several other fans commented on Harrison’s tragic death, noting it was “so sad.” Many also sent condolences to his family, friends, and fans of his work.
While sources have confirmed the iconic singer’s death, the cause remains unknown. The singer’s family has not released a statement at the time of writing. However, as the saying goes, Legends never die. Rest in Peace, Blake Harrison.
