Back in 1987, when “Full House” made it to the small screen of the American audience, Bob Saget played the main role of Danny Tanner, a widower with three daughters.
Saget’s Danny Tanner took over the daily care of his three daughters, with the help of his brother-in-law, Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), and his friend, Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier). Saget’s TV daughters were Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin).
“Full House” aired for eight seasons until 1995 when it came to an end. There was a reenactment in 2016, “Fuller House,” and the 90s stars came together for another five seasons. “Full House” Cast Say Farewell To Saget
The “Big Shot” actor, Stamos, took to Instagram, where he posted a touching tribute to his fellow TV actor. Stamos’s post was a joint statement from all the cast members and show creators, as they solemnly remembered the life Saget lived. Stamos’ post read:
Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family. And now we grieve as a family. Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories….”
In the post, which included a photo of all the stars of “Full House,” the cast members described the late actor as “sweet, kind, hilarious and cherished.” The post further read that the “America’s Funniest Home Video” actor was a “brother” to the “guys” while he was a dad to the girls.
Saget was also described as a colleague who gave the best hugs while adding that fans should endeavor to give their loved ones some hugs in memory of Saget. The post was concluded with a declaration of their love for Bob Saget.
John Stamos
In Stamos’ emotional post on Twitter, he noted how “broken and gutted” he felt while expressing “utter shock.” Stamos stated that he would “never ever have another friend” like Saget. While still grieving, the “Scream Queens” star reposted Saget’s last Instagram upload.
Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen
The twin sisters interchangeably played Danby Tanner’s youngest child Michelle on “Full House,” making Saget their TV dad for eight years. In a statement to EW, the Olsen twins referred to him as the “most loving, compassionate and generous man.”
The Olsens noted that they were “deeply saddened” by Saget’s sudden death. The famous duo relayed that they believed he would continue to be by their side to “guide” them “as gracefully as he always has.” The stars also reached out to Saget’s wife and kids while sending their condolences.
Candace Cameron Bure
Bure’s role as Danny’s eldest daughter shaped a good part of her entertainment career, and she would never forget playing side by side with the A-list Bob Saget. On her Twitter page, Bure described the actor as “one of the best human beings” she’d ever known.

Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler, Danny’s nosy neighbor, took to her Instagram page where she posted several photos of the late actor and some of their moments together.
She penned a heart-melting caption where she noted that Saget had the “biggest heart” in all of Hollywood. Barber also emphasized that Saget gave the “biggest hugs” and loved “so deeply and fiercely.” The 45-year-old included that the biggest lesson she learned from Saget was never to hesitate on love.
How Did Bob Saget Die?
Nine days into the new year, fans received the news of the death of Saget, who was 65. Prior to the announcement, officers were alerted about a man in Ritz Carlton Orlando in Grand Lakes.
The man was found unresponsive and later identified as Robert “Bob” Saget when authorities got there. He was also pronounced dead at the scene. Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, daughters Jennifer, Lara, and Aubrey from his former marriage to Sherri Kramer.
