Allegations have surfaced suggesting that President Joe Biden used email aliases during his tenure as Vice President under Barack Obama. During a private session, Hunter Biden’s business associate, Eric Schwerin, told congressional investigators that he corresponded with then-Vice President Joe Biden using a private email alias.
However, Schwerin maintained that he did not know Joe Biden’s participation in his family’s business affairs. Schwerin provided his testimony in a closed-door interview conducted by the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees in January. This interview was part of the House’s impeachment inquiry into President Biden.
Schwerin explained that he helped handle Joe Biden’s household money matters from 2009 to 2017. This included keeping track of expenses and helping with paperwork for Biden’s taxes and financial paperwork. This shows that he was closely involved in handling Biden’s finances.
During his tenure as vice president, Fox News Digital initially revealed that Joe Biden used email aliases and private email accounts to communicate with Hunter Biden and his business contacts. This included communication with Schwerin. These communications occurred between 2010 and 2019, with some email exchanges happening while Biden held the vice presidency.

The House Ways & Means Committee, co-leading the impeachment inquiry with the Oversight and Judiciary Committees, said that 54 emails were solely exchanged between Joe Biden and Schwerin. The committee described Schwerin as “the architect of the Biden family’s shell companies.”
During his recorded interview, Schwerin confirmed that an email address labeled “Robinware456” was linked to Joe Biden. “Yes,” Schwerin affirmed when questioned by a committee investigator.

“That’s Joe Biden?” the investigator sought clarification. “Correct,” Schwerin testified. Additionally, Schwerin identified another email address labeled “Hurricane5155” as belonging to Valerie Biden and “261penn” as associated with Beau Biden.
Meanwhile, Schwerin recalled initially meeting Hunter Biden while working in the Clinton administration at the Commerce Department. After their government service, he joined Hunter Biden at a law and lobbying firm.
Schwerin, Hunter Biden, and other colleagues co-founded Rosemont Seneca Partners. He described the firm as a “consulting and investment firm that offered development and public policy advisory services to a wide range of clients.”

“In the course of performing these duties, I could view transactions both into and out of Vice President Biden’s bank accounts while he was vice president,” Schwerin said in his opening statement. “Based on that insight, I am not aware of any financial transactions or compensation that Vice President Biden received related to business conducted by any of his family members or their associates nor any involvement by him in their businesses. None.”
Meanwhile, Schwerin testified that he was appointed to the U.S. Commission on the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. Schwerin disclosed that Biden approached him during his tenure as vice president in 2009 and asked if he would be “interested in being on one of these boards or commissions.”
“I understood that I assumed that the Vice President had signed off on it, but I would think it was someone from the staff who said, we can put your name forward to Presidential Personnel, and they would, you know, give you a call about this,” he said, adding that he was not appointed to the board until May 2015.
