Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced the birth of his twelfth child, which came earlier in 2024. Musk has welcomed his third child with Shivon Zilis, director of Neuralink.
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Musk stated in an interview that the birth of his new child was, by intention, a secret. However, he claims that the idea of a public announcement about his child’s birth was weird.
The 52-year-old tech billionaire had claimed that the idea that he had secretly fathered a child was factually incorrect. Musk continues that all family, friends, and colleagues of his and Zilis were aware of the new addition. Consequently, his refusal to issue a public notice, which he said was weird, doesn’t constitute a secret.
While Musk has not officially announced any additional information about his new child, either gender or name, it has been confirmed that the child was born in 2024. Musk and Zilis previously shared two kids before the birth of their third. Zilis, a 38-year-old executive, works at Neuralink, which Musk owns.

The first public announcement of the Musk child’s birth came from Bloomberg in an article that was published on Friday, June 21, 2024. The article further discussed Musk’s beliefs regarding declining birth rates.
On July 20, 2022, a report announced that Musk and Zilis had welcomed two children, sometime in November 2021. In 2023, two years after their birth, the twins’ names were announced as Strider and Azure. The birth of their children came a few weeks before Musk and his ex-girlfriend Grimes welcomed their second child.

Musk and Grimes confirmed, through Musk’s self-titled biography written by Walter Isaacson, that they had a son named X Æ A-Xii. Grimes is a Canadian musician and voice actor, most notably for her role in the video game Cyberpunk.
X Æ A-Xii was born in 2020. Grimes also shares a daughter with Musk named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk popularly referred to as Y. Exa was born in December 2021.
Musk has two ex-wives and has been married a total of three different times. In 2020, Musk and Justice Wilson got married after they met in Canada while attending Queen’s University in Ontario. Wilson is a Canadian author known for fantasy novels such as Bloodraven.

Musk and Wilson welcomed their first child in 2002, named Nevada Alexander Musk. Unfortunately, Nevada died of sudden infant death a mere 10 weeks after he was born. Musk has always spoken about losing a child in tweets and company emails.
According to reports in June 2023, Musk and Wilson’s adolescent daughter received the name and gender change she had requested. In April 2024, in a petition with the L.A. Superior Court, their transgender daughter requested a name change to sever ties with Musk.
