Matt Damon and Ben Affleck share a friendship, which began long before fame, but are their children friends as well?
Undeniably two of the most revered figures in Hollywood, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have more in common than their Hollywood profile. The two are bosom friends who go way back, long before they co-wrote and produced “Good Will Hunting.”
Over the years, their friendship has survived the scandalous world of Hollywood, without once dwindling. Their friendship shone through in August, when Matt Damon stormed Georgia with his wife and daughters, to grace the infamous wedding of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
Thus, this enduring friendship was spotlighted once again. While their rare relationship amid their respective stardom is commendable, does it extend to their children?
Are Matt Damon And Ben Affleck’s Children Friends?
Having celebrated their friendship for years, it is not uncommon for fans to wonder if Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s children get along as well. From the looks of it, the answer to that is ‘yes,’ as the friendly dynamic between their dads managed to seep into them over time.
Aside from enduring endless visits through the years as family friends, or celebrating milestones together, both families have been spotted vacationing together on occasions.
While appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2017, Affleck opened up about spending time with his brother, Cassey Affleck, his best friend Matt, and their respective families. The families got to enjoy a fun trip in Montana, where they bonded over adventurous activities like skiing.
While the twosome never addressed the bond between their children, Affleck has openly admitted his admiration for Matt’s children, saying:
“I have the world’s greatest mom, but even she cannot conquer the obstacles there. Damon’s kids are pretty well behaved… They’re all great kids.”
This proves the friends have become fond of each other’s kids, making it more likely that their children are in fact, friends.
Matt Damon And Ben Affleck Each Have Three Children
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon began their respective journeys to parenthood in 2005. That year, Affleck married his “Daredevil” co-star, Jennifer Garner, while the latter married Luciana Barroso.
The “Pearl Harbor” actor went on to welcome three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel with Garner. Sadly, their relationship ended years later, and they finalized the divorce in 2018.
Unlike Affleck, Damon and Barroso are still going strong. In the last seventeen years of their marriage, they welcomed three daughters, Isabella, Gia, and Stella Damon. The “Jason Bourne” actor is also stepdad to Alexia Barroso, his wife’s daughter from a previous marriage.
A Glimpse Into Affleck And Damon’s Friendship
While their collaboration on “Good Will Hunting” spotlighted the friendship between Affleck and Damon, they were best pals long before that.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s friendship began when they were children. At the time, the “Gone Girl” star was ten while Damon was eight. Yet, they found common grounds.
They spent their childhood living down the street from each other and attended the same school in Massachusetts. Eventually, the twosome developed a knack for acting, ultimately making it into a career.
Today, both men are celebrated figures in show business, are happily married to the love of their lives, and have their respective families. Their kids stand to share in that friendship, spending several shared familial moments together, including Affleck’s 2022 marriage to Lopez.
