Days after Halle Bailey called DDG out for participating on a Twitch livestream with their 11-month-old son Halo, the “Moonwalking in Calabasas” rapper has asked the internet to put an end to the abuse directed at his ex-girlfriend.
On November 7, the 27-year-old informed followers in a YouTube video that he dislikes it when people criticize Bailey. He stated that he does not care whether others or he thinks she’s incorrect because she may be going through something mentally.
Referring to Bailey’s comment of “experiencing severe postpartum” in the now-deleted social media post, he highlighted that many fans who weighed in just could not grasp what she’d been through. DDG noted that individuals do not fully comprehend the mental issues associated with postpartum.

He explained that Bailey had recently given birth and was dealing with a completely new life, needing to include their child, Halo, in every situation. Regarding their connection, he stated that they are family and will always be family, and they will work things out together.
Bailey initially deactivated her social media accounts in response to her strongly condemned posts over DDG’s appearance on Kai Cenat’s livestream. However, she eventually returned to explain her initial reaction.
On November 7, she wrote that she might have overreacted the previous day and should not have brought the issue to public attention. The singer acknowledged that Halo is always safe with his dad but expressed discomfort with finding out about her baby’s activities along with the rest of the world. She also thanked Kai for the gifts for Halo.

In an interview with Essence, Halle Bailey revealed that she had known about DDG long before they became an official couple. She mentioned that she had been a fan of his for years, having grown up watching young Black creators on YouTube and being inspired by them, including DDG.
When asked if she is in love with him, she confirmed, “Yes. For sure, I am.”

On October 3, 2024, DDG confirmed his split with Bailey in a statement posted to his Instagram Story. He mentioned that after much reflection and heartfelt conversations, they have decided to go their separate ways.
He acknowledged that the decision was not easy, but they believe it is the best path forward for both of them. He also expressed that he cherishes the time they spent together and the love they shared.
DDG stated that, despite their breakup, he and Halle Bailey want to support one another in the future. He highlighted that their love for each other is still strong and genuine and that they are still best friends who cherish each other.

Fans began to speculate that Halle Bailey was pregnant in the fall of 2023, following a string of significant red-carpet events at which she wore uncommonly baggy apparel. Bailey announced the arrival of her first child on January 6, 2024.
The singer posted a picture of her hand wrapped around her son’s. The infant wore a gold nameplate bracelet with the word Halo on it. Bailey revealed in a Snapchat video that she kept her pregnancy a secret so she could have a beautiful, quiet, and healthy time.
She stated that she avoided all social media to keep herself sane and that many people would respond, “We know, girl, we know.”
