Lively and Reynolds’ love story began in 2010, with their first meeting on set of their 2012 movie, “Green Lantern.” The pair, cast as the lead roles and onscreen lovers in the film, took their relationship off-the-screen, developing a connection between them.
Although the two were at the time in relationships with other people, their feelings for each other progressed. Shortly after their meeting, Lively hit a rough patch with her “Gossip Girl” co-star, Penn Badgely who she was dating at the time.
Reynolds’ marriage to Scarlett Johansson followed suit around the time, taking a downward spiral. Livey reportedly went on to date Hollywood icon, Leornardo DiCaprio, but their relationship was short-lived.

Aside from the social media glimpse into their union, Reynolds and Lively have been open about their shared happiness. During a 2012 interview, a month into their marriage, Lively opened up about her happines since becoming Ryan Reynolds’ wife. She shared:
“Right now, I’m so peaceful. I’ve never been happier in my life.”
She went on to establish how much she wanted to have his kids and build a big family. Two years later, their happiness remained untainted, with Lively confirming they did everything together. Again, in 2016, the actress admitted Reynolds was her bestfriend, and would remain that her whole life.

In January 2015, Reynolds and Lively welcomed their first child, a daughter. They kept the baby’s name hidden for months, eventually disclosing it as James on “The Today’s Show.”
They welcomed their second daughter, Ines Reynolds in October 2016. Two years after welcoming their second child, rumors of a breakup between the pair flooded the media. However, Reynolds ruled it as false via a post joking that he wished it were true as he could “use a little ‘me’ time.”
Their third child arrived in October 2019. The couple failed to immediately share details about the newborn. They later revealed the child to be a girl, disclosing her name as Betty.
