Bill Maher Condemns Charlamagne tha God’s Claims About Life Being “Five Times Harder” for Blacks

During an appearance at Morehouse College in May, President Joe Biden gave a speech, trying to connect to members of the historically Black institution. There, he asked his listeners a question, “What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot?”

This question has now been dissected by various political commentators and the general public, with people asking if this is actually the reality of Black Americans in the country. During a “Real Time” segment with HBO, famous host Bill Maher asked Charlamagne tha God his opinion on the president’s question.

However, it didn’t seem as though he got the response he was hoping for. Maher had asked Charlamagne if he agreed with the president, saying that a Black American has to work ten times as hard as anyone else to get a fair chance at anything in the country. To this, Charlamagne responded that he didn’t know if it was up to ten times, but it could be about five times harder.

Maher responded, “Come on! You think you have to be five times?” Charlamagne doubled down and said, “Yeah.” As a Black person in America, the radio host believes that one has to work extra hard to make it. As a woman in America, or worse, a Black woman in America, one definitely has to work about five times harder, according to Charlamagne.

However, Maher did not agree with Charlamagne’s response and called it a “zombie lie.” This is because he believes that the United States of America is no longer at a point where Black Americans are discriminated against to the point of working five times harder. He is of the opinion that the country has evolved with Black people rising and being able to hold offices and positions that were once considered impossible.

However, it is also important to note that Maher is a White American man. Therefore, he may not be able to relate to Charlamagne’s opinions on these issues since it is not his reality. While things are getting significantly better for Black people in America, it is important not to forget that there are still many instances where race and gender have been reasons why people have lost out on opportunities of a lifetime.

Therefore, one cannot fault Black Americans for believing that they have to go the extra mile or try to be five times better in order to achieve anything in the U.S. According to many recent polls, President Biden has been losing support among Black Americans, and this could hurt his aspirations for a second term in the Oval Office.

His opponent, Donald Trump, has been gaining ground with Black Americans recently, and this could help further his cause and increase his numbers in the November presidential election. Therefore, Biden has been trying to reach out to more Black Americans in hopes of winning their votes, but many have mocked him for doing so.

Charlamagne tha God has also repeatedly mocked the current president for his appearance at some Black rallies, saying that he appeared awkward and stiff.
